"Nekesa Shepherd said Briskey flew into a rage when she saw the sisters and others joking that the Crimson Tide's loss wasn't as bad as if the NBA's Miami Heat had lost a game."

And with that, my suspicions were confirmed.

I will never drive through Alabama. If it is between me and where I want to go, I will pay the extra money and take the extra time to drive around it.

In comparison, yes.

But comparing the countryside is like comparing dog shiat to cat shiat, both are shiat just one is a bigger pile of shiat. Except even the cities are pretty shiatty in bama, well maybe Huntsville is ok the other cities suck.

Now, the only way Briskey could have shown herself to be a more hardcore fan would have been had she put a bullet in her own head to end her grief.

If you're going east to west, drive through Alabama. It's narrow enough that you can make it on a single tank of gas, and the Mississippi welcome center is a beautiful facility. It's worth your time to deal with Alabama, just for the joy of getting out of Alabama.

Something tells me that this woman didn't go to college at 'Bama. Which makes me wonder how someone like that develops such an affinity for a *college* football team that they'd kill someone over it.

It's Alabama. They don't have any professional sports save for minor league baseball. College football is really all they have.

Yeah, she doesn't look a day over 62.

Crimson tide... Crimson tide... makes me wonder if there wasn't some sort of condition, which might make one moody... might make women moody... for some period every month, moody enough to kill.

Nope, can't think of anything.

I used to work in the promotion business and would hear from touring bands all the time (especially those from overseas) that driving through Alabama and Mississippi were like driving through third world countries.  the shock to them was that for America being such a wealthy and powerful country they couldn't understand why we had such widespread poverty in some areas.

/my response was usually just "meh, it's the way of the South."

I would rather be in Mississippi or rural Georgia than bama, its one of the few places that scared me and I'm white.

Having visited Mississippi multiple times, and currently living in Georgia, I can assure you they are just as rednecky as Alabama is.

Note: I'm not defending this stupidity. As big an Alabama fan as I am I still understand it's just a game.

I will disagree, Tuscaloosa/Birmingham is as rednecky as rural Georgia but the outlying areas are farking reaching deliverance tones of redneck, the rest of alabama is farking scary redneck where even white people run screaming.

Mississippi is a close second but they are too dumb to really be a danger.

This really applies to most rural areas in America now, not just the South. Living in NC I can tell you there are some really sad looking places outside of the big cities. A lot of places never recovered from the textiles and furniture industries moving overseas.

BIG TIME COLLEGE FOOTBALL: From the school sponsored child rape to the thug Heisman candidates to fanatics poisoning a rival's trees to, ultimately, a fanatic killing someone else because the fanatic didn't think the other person took a loss hard enough...this garbage is the worst thing about sports in the world. Institutions of highest learning fielding teams of bullies and monosyllabic borderline mental defects, all cheered on by fans that very likely did not even attend said institution. Amateur competition waged at professional levels of corruption and cover-up, dressed up as something wholesome by using the term "student athlete".

Seems like this kind of thing is happening every year now. Maybe it's time to move Auburn into the eastern division. Have a west division school like Ole Miss or LSU as the permanent opponent so there is not an Iron Bowl every year. Or at least threaten to do it if the fans can't get a grip. These people don't exist in a vacuum. People around them know how unbalanced they are but egg them on or even celebrate their level of dedication. It's time for it to not be socially acceptable to be emotionally involved with the teams to this degree. But what will happen is ESPN and other sports media outlets will decry this event and a couple months from now they'll come out with a "top ten hardcore fanbases" list that urges everyone to be even more extreme.

You'd think that with the way the Cowboys have been playing in recent years and after the Yankee's bad season, they'd be able to handle losing.

This.

The entire portion of southwest Missouri terrifies me. I was going from Fort Worth to KC a few years ago and stopped in some backwater hick town outside of Joplin.

Walked in to the gas station and I swear to FSM, the conversation in the place stopped. Six pairs of (male) eyes followed my every farking move.

Think Grandpa Simpson seeing Bart at the club.

As I was walking out, two of the Hick Cavemen got up from their little table and started to follow.

I think I broke the land speed record going to my car.

Fark Missouri.

I've never understood this argument.  That's like saying people can't root for the Bears because they've never worked for the organization.

Hell, I've known people that went to UNL that were Iowa fans.

I used to love watching NFL games, especially the Cowboys. Then one day it occurred to me: not only had I never worked for that organization, I had also never worked for the league I'm any capacity. That's the day I stopped watching the games as I have no right to have a rooting interest in any NFL team or other league's professional teams.

I've also stopped being a fan of movies since I've never worked I'm Hollywood either.

Ok, as an Auburn fan I can kind of understand being upset about the loss. On the other hand, what the FARK? Talking to Alabama fans that I'm cordial with, I can't see a point in killing someone over the loss. Seriously, what does murder solve when you probably had nothing to do with the university itself? Some of my fellow Farkers have commented on her appearance, you have to do some crazy stuff to look that old at age 28.
Might be in poor taste, but it's FARK. War Eagle
