He who does not possess the force to secure an ample supply of PS4s in this world, and, if necessary, to enlarge its suplie, does not deserve to possess the necessities of life. He must step aside and allow stronger peoples to pass him by. In an era when the earth is gradually being divided up among states, some of which have vast supplies of PS4s, we cannot speak of a world power in connection with a formation whose political mother country is limited to the absurdly small amount of PS4s. Without consideration of traditions and prejudices, Germany must find the courage to gather its people and their strength for an advance along the road that will lead them from its present restricted living space to new lands and soils teeming with PS4 supplies and hence also free it from the danger of vanishing from the earth or of serving others as a slave nation.

When I was younger, I was one of those guys. Even up until recently, I played Diablo 3 for 3-4 hours a night.

After finally realizing that there's no hope left for that boring game a few weeks ago (after I was severely disappointed by Reaper of Souls beta gameplay),  I find myself not caring at all for the latest games unless a group of 2-4+ people will be playing together in the same room.

/just beat Super Mario World 3D yesterday.
//wife beat Bowser on her own, we ran out of lives as my sister-in-law and I were the guinea pigs for the crazy final level.
/super fun game, highly recommended!

Steam is having a big ass sale until the 3rd. Look into some indie titles or old ones you may have missed. I just got the first two Witcher games for 7.50 after hearing about them for years.

Monday yoga should be a regular occurrence. Good for the chakras and all that.

Perhaps not the right place to ask this, but it is PS4 related.

Seeing this thread I went to ebay to see how PS4 prices were, and I saw this can someone explain why $10 PSN gift cards are selling for $14.95? He has sold 200 of them, so that is like an extra $1000 in his pocket.

because people are stupid. The same reason they will buy the system's on ebay for almost twice the retail price.

I picked up mine on Thursday, the local Walmart was doing a wrist band deal, along with the XBone and other big ticket items. I got a band, did some shopping, picked up the system. The worst part was waiting to get checked out.

/once in a life time experience, won't do it again.

You can make PSN accounts for other nations and get access to their PSN store, but there's weird restrictions on loading money into the account, and you get around it by using the gift cards. That's how US folk get access to Jap stuff, but it's also how Euro folk get access to the US store. I'd guess he's marking it up for sale across the pond.

The good thing about video game "enthusiasts" like those folks is that, so long as they're around, there's at least one group of people I feel perfectly comfortable judging myself superior to in a blanket manner...

I just started playing "The Saboteur" (XBox 360) last night.  It's a 2009 Grand Theft Auto clone that is so far better than Grand Theft Auto.  Sadly it came with a code to enter for naked lap dances or something but the EA Online Services discontinued service last year.

So I miss out on that, but I got the game on clearance for $4.98.

I can wait years for these games/systems.  These people in these videos are nuts.

/last game I bought the weekend it came out was Portal 2

I was in the front lines back when the Nintendo 64 came out.  A giant horde o' nerdness had set up a siege outside our doors, The banging of their Cheetos powder encrusted hands could be heard clear through the rotunda.  All at once they came,  pouring through isles like a giant single living creature with only one thing on its mind.   I remember lots of bright colors, money being thrown at me, and a clamor of a deafening roar.  That's when it happened.  I felt a sharp pain.  I looked down, and knew I was done for.  For I had taken a controller to the knee.  This was no longer my fight.  This was no longer my life.

I remember reading once (don't know whether it's true or not), about an experiment that some researchers did in the UK.

They had some of their team line up outside a random door like they were waiting for something. Completely undirected, pedestrians in the UK would line up in an orderly fashion behind them, largely without complaint, patiently waiting to work their way through the queue.

So very British.

Just happened to be listing to Beethoven's Piano Sonata No.14 in C-sharp minor, Movement III, when I started this video.  It's a fitting soundtrack.

Wtf? Germans never heard of the concept of pre-orders, or giving out numbers to people in line? Its sad when Americans are more orderly shoppers than Europeans.

If you want a good laugh, go find Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours.

Set it at around 8:08, then start the German video.

Old enough to know better: Wtf? Germans never heard of the concept of pre-orders, or giving out numbers to people in line? Its sad when Americans are more orderly shoppers than Europeans.

Preorders for the PS4 did next to nothing. A tiny percentage got theirs. PS4s are going on ebay for over double the retail price. As you could see in the video, the markets got about 10 to 20 systems and several hundred turned up to buy them.

And it is very sad to see the video...

Wut, is subby high on something?  That was more orderly and polite compared to your typical stampede into a Walmart during Black Friday.  I barely saw anyone get trampled...
