The One True TheDavid: And as for "spewing hatred," obviously you don't think other people have a right to disagree with you. Good, it's been a while since my Ignore list got updated.

Oh jesus christ, you delicate little flower.

"Disagreeing" is not the same as spewing uninformed, bigoted opinions and then acting indignant when people call you out for it.

Ah. Don't applaud then. Don't accept it. Your applause and acceptance are not needed or required.

So you admit that not accepting or applauding "sex reassignment" does not in fact make me "ignorant" or "a hater?" Cool.

Just go work on your truck and don't give it any more thought.

Penis too sharp, would not hit.

What do any of you care what someone else does with their body? Their body, their life, their choice to make. Y'all would be screaming bloody murder if anyone started telling you what you could or couldn't do with your life so why all the anger and upset over what someone else does with their life? Stop liking what you don't like, eh? Just because you wouldn't make the same choice for yourself doesn't make it a wrong one for someone else.

Yeah I know, I'm a hypocrite because I find the people that want amputation or paralyzation to be exceedingly disturbing. Why would you cut off a perfectly good limb? I suppose y'all view genital reconstruction surgery much the same way so I get it but it's not the same as losing a limb.

And calling it mutilation. The disdain and disapproval evinced by the use of that word is palpable. What about women that have a mastectomy. Are they not mutilated? But of course no one ever says that because it's g'damn rude. People get cosmetic surgery all the time. There's even a thing called vaginal beautification. You can get your own designer vagina but no one raises a huge fuss about that. Personally I find it unnecessary but who am I tell someone else what they can or can't do with their body. But if someone wants to get their pecker turned inside out suddenly every bloke with two brain cells to rub together is tossing their two cents in when it was none of their business in the first place.

You seem really, really personally offended with what other people choose to do with their bodies.

I would use my mutilated (circumcised) penis to do all sorts of fun stuff with her. And I would prefer to do so without the change, as it were. But a different mutilation (breast enhancement) on her would be nice.

Now, excuse me while I mutilate my toenails.

The One True TheDavid: And then there are some people who realize that guys who think surgery and pills will make them women (and vice versa) are confused and deluded.

As is the chick I read about not long ago who wants a surgeon to sever her spinal cord so she can be the paraplegic she thinks she's meant to be. Or guys who drape their legs across railroad tracks because legitimate surgeons won't humor their perversion: they cinch the stump off with a belt, chomp a couple more pain pills, and call 911. "Now I'm fulfilled!1!"

You should be entitled to have any surgery you want if you can come up with the money on your own. It's your body to mutilate. With your own money, on your own time. Just don't expect me to applaud.

Note that I understand "transsexualism," I just don't accept it as commendable.

I also understand that 1) you don't know delusion when you see it, and 2) you don't think anybody has a right to disagree with you. The implicit logic is "Of course my opinion is 100% correct, so there's something wrong with anyone who doesn't see it my way."

In other works, go fark yourself.

There you are - I hadn't seen you in many of the other trans threads and I was starting to wonder if you'd dropped off the radar completely or if your zealotry had burnt out.

Also, how does your narrative that "transgender people are deluded" stack up against evidence that says transgender people have different neurological structures and have since birth (i.e. they are literally born that way)?

It's a transsexual man (though there is totally nothing wrong with that), chromosomes don't lie.

It's like when a lady at my work kept talking about "that man that just got pregnant". It's not a man, it's a woman.

I'll call her Carl, or Bob or whatever... don't change the fact that she's a woman (or man in this case).

In no way a homophobe, but thems are the facts.

My cat can never be a dog, my sandwich will never be a tuba, and the mighty shark will never be a bowl of petunias.

We have a bunch of transgendered people at work , and I would never treat them like anything other than what they are putting them selves out there as. I would never call a transgendered guy "dude", and think it would be the height of rudeness to call an obviously trans-woman "ma'am".

I'm all for gender neutrality, but in the name of science I can't pretend that something is what it is not.

Live as what you want to and be happy... but there was never a pregnant dude.

You have the terms reversed there - a trans woman identifies as female and a trans man identifies as male, so you would call a trans woman "ma'am" or a trans man "sir." Unless you're deliberately misgendering them (which I hope you're not, as that would be very offensive to your colleagues).

You seem to have missed my central point about biological determinism - that your genetic makeup is not the sole determinant of every aspect of your being. There are socio-cultural inputs, intrinsic identifiers and not to mention differing neurology at birth. Gender is a lot more involved and complex than just boiling it down to the presence or absence of a single region on a single chromosome.

As for the comment about "pregnant dude," you may find this Venn diagram useful:

No, you make a good and valid point. Completely. Your gender in your head is is different, and just as valid as your gender genetically.

Your opinion is definitely a kinder than mine. Sorry if I look at it in a different way, but it doesn't come from a position of hate.

Then whats the problem someone born male that transitions to female is a trans women. A women that transitions to man is a trans man. Not so difficult unless you're prejudice and so on. The first few years are rough for trans people that's when they're learning proper dress and body language, it's also the most dangerous time since they don't quit pass. Eventually the hormones help and if their not too old they can disappear into the background noise..

There you go calling me prejudiced. You know that when you throw words like that around, you do a real disservice to your cause. I love that while I completely support these people, and disagree with you on one small portion of the discussion (kind of like we agree with each other, but don't see eye to eye on the exact definition), you feel the need to call people names.

I can kind of understand why conservatives get sick of a lot of the liberal BS. As a pretty militant liberal, that makes me sad.

You are your own worst enemy. Congrats :)

Also... when you wrote "through", did you mean threw? Because the correct word for that sentence would have been "throw".

Mr. Pokeylope: No, you make a good and valid point. Completely. Your gender in your head is is different, and just as valid as your gender genetically.

Ultimately, the only "arbiter" of a particular person's gender identity is the person in question. If someone says they are male, then they should be treated as such no matter what their exterior appearance may suggest.

Your opinion is definitely a kinder than mine. Sorry if I look at it in a different way, but it doesn't come from a position of hate.

Then where does it come from?

tinfoil-hat maggie: Mr. Pokeylope: tinfoil-hat maggie: Mr. Pokeylope: tinfoil-hat maggie: What words did I through around and what cause did I do a disservice too? Please do tell : )
/This should be interesting.

I'm not going to explain myself to someone who obviously fails at reading comprehension.

Also... when you wrote "through", did you mean threw? Because the correct word for that sentence would have been "throw".

I don't usually correct grammar or spelling, but you apparently fail on both counts.

Apparently you fail as a compassionate human, bite it bigot go spill your're prejudice elsewhere. I got your number and well it's pretty pathetic really.

Thanks for proving my point. And how exactly did you "get my number"?

LoL, there is more than one meaning bigot. No worries I wan't call you, LuLz.

Your point is that you are a hateful person, and may even be violent in the right circumstances.. Sad really.

I (obviously) never said anything here that would label me as a bigot. You just look silly calling me undeserved names like that.

I'm just going to back out of the thread at this point and let you pat yourself on the back for being so gosh darn clever. I'm sure everyone is very impressed... you wordsmith you.

You're a bigot. If that bothers you, instead of demanding others not label you appropriately it would be ...smarter...to go back and perhaps examine why your words and position are being viewed that way.

If it was one person saying it, sure...but it's not. If more than one person tells me my head is up my ass, even if I think I'm sure it's not...it's a good time to double check, because people with their heads firmly lodged up their ass rarely seem to realize it.

And your bowels sir, are quite impacted by that noggin.

And people are adding you to their ignore lists. I don't get it. Everyone, please at least listen to Lady Indica when she says something. It's probably very easy to dismiss her as being contrary to your political leanings I guess or whatever but take her words at their own value and judge them yourself. Just challenge yourself for one second. She's truly tolerant of all kinds. If you'd get over your butthurt reaction of feeling personally attacked, you'd see she's also tolerant of the bigot types she is trying to educate. She is nice to them. She gives them big knobs to slob on when they want it. It's glorious.

Earlier in the thread I posted a quite um graphic response due to the Boobies being a threat of violence towards transgendered folks and their allies. Not sure if it's still in the thread after the Boobies was nuked or not. But due to things like that I'm sure some of the ignoring is totally valid based on not wanting to read that sort of stuff rather than simply because I don't share their viewpoint.

I'm not for everyone. And that's okay.

Yes... I've been "called out" by a couple of fark "intellectuals" and a troll.

I'm going to have to re-think my entire belief system now.

You people don't even know what a bigot is apparently.

Mr. Pokeylope: You people don't even know what a bigot is apparently.

Someone who's unwilling to tolerate someone else for being different, or who dehumanizes and insults someone because they're different even though this person has done nothing harmful to them.

Soooo, what has a transgendered person done to harm you in your life specifically? Have they done anything specifically to you to inconvenience you? does there existence damage your ability to live your life?

No, right? They just make you uncomfortable, and you don't like being around them, so you refer to transgendered people as "it", like a thing and not a person

Mr. Pokeylope: Your opinion is definitely a kinder than mine. Sorry if I look at it in a different way, but it doesn't come from a position of hate.

No, just indifference and callousness.

Mr. Pokeylope: I love that while I completely support these people, and disagree with you on one small portion of the discussion

Yeah, that's the thing though, you really don't. you're trying to have it both ways. It's like that white guy who keeps saying "I'm not racist cuz I have a black friend." You want to think of yourself as all open-minded and accepting and live-and-let-live, because you don't want to acknowledge that you're not really as open-minded and accepting as you'd like to believe.

Pick a side.

Lady Indica: I'm not for everyone.

You make me feel conflicted in many ways. I'm fascinated by your line of work and enjoy hearing your insightful/amusing anecdotes. I'd love to explore my submissive side with someone who really knows what they're doing. It sounds hot. It also sounds patronizing and insulting to men on some levels. Strange that I would feel insulted myself by what other people--your clientele, not you--choose to do. It's the whole sex for money thing (I know it's not technically sex but to these guys yeah it's sex unless you can honestly tell me they aren't hard as a rock during your encounters or don't furiously masturbate to the memories of it later on). When you give us these glimpses into your experiences I feel grateful for it, to be clear, but the idea makes me simultaneously jealous/curious and also sad/turned-off.

I was going to say something like we are sexual foils you and I but I realized I can't even begin to guess at your sexuality. These questions are rhetoric and I don't expect a response but is this who you are? How much of your own identity are you selling along with the fantasy? Does it differ from guy to guy? There's something at play here I can't seem to get over. It's not the money, I get that. Using money makes things easy for men. It makes things possible at all for others. Best case scenario it might even play into some of their humiliation fetishes.

I think its the lack of any meaningful connection between the players that I can't wrap my head around. When I was younger I had this fling with an older married woman. She was sexually dominant and did all kinds of crazy things to me. She had toys and things I'd never seen or heard of. I was a virgin when I first met her. I was also head over heels in love with her and it got very emotionally intense. Maybe that's why I can't fully accept BDSM as a transactionary service because for me the idea of it is so mixed up with feelings of deep intimacy. I realize how lucky I was to stumble into it (I wasn't looking) and to be honest I'd love to try a real professional Domme just to satiate my curiosity. I imagine that lack of a connection could make the experience more and less fulfilling all at the same time. The very idea confuses me.

Anyway thanks for every time you share and making me think and confront myself. I'm just sharing my personal feelings here and not espousing any particular way of life. There's absolutely no reason I should look down on other guys for what they want to do sexually, but inside my heart I do. You help me to see my own brand of intolerance there and I want to thank you for that. Keep up the great posting, you're one of the good ones.

I never referred to anyone as "it".
I never said anyone made me "uncomfortable".
How am I "not tolerating" anyone?

There is nothing in your statement that collates to anything that I actually said. You are just making up things to get offended about.

Genetics... I was talking about genetics... the narrative that you have constructed about me based on what I said is surreal to say the least.

I don't know if you people are willfully ignorant or just morons.
