The Saints defense has given up 26 points or more only twice this year. I don't see that happening.

I'm from NOLA, so I clearly love a good bowl of gumbo.  But, this stuff just might qualify as mana from heaven:

That's because their defense has not dealt with BEAST MODE this season.

Chris Ivory gashed the D pretty hard, but that is consistent with former Saints players having career games against the Saints. The run defense has been stout the last three games, though.

My favorite comment from a ESPN "expert analyst" on this game: The Seahawks will win because Wilson has bigger hands than Brees, meaning he can hold on to the ball better in bad weather.

EXPERT ANALYSIS!!!

No dog in the fight so I'm gonna root for about 9 Jimmy Graham TD's and 7 Golden Tate TD's.  And Bees.  And Shoes.

THE TEAM THAT CAN CAPITIALIZE IN THE RED ZONE, AVOID TRADING FGS FOR TDS, LIMIT TURNOVERS AND FORCE THE OTHER TEAM TO PLAY OUTSIDE THEIR COMFORT ZONE SHOULD WIN THIS GAME!  AND GUYS, I'M GONNA PREDICT THAT THE TEAM THAT CONTROLS THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE AND DICTATE THE PACE OF THE GAME WILL WIN!  THAT'S WHAT YOU NEED IN TODAY'S NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE!

IMO, it'll come down to the Seahawks pass rush vs. Saints O-Line. If Brees has time to check down all night, it could be rough with 14-play drives and whatnot. I think the Seahawks will be able to put up 30 tonight if they don't come out flat and establish the run early to open up play-action and hit Baldwin/Tate/Kearse downfield.

should be a good game

2013-12-02 07:08:59 PM
Not to say this is what Subby is implying, but I have seen the argument that since the Saints play in the Superdome, they are "use to" the noise level that Seattle can produce. No doubt, being NFL players, the Saints have heard loud crowds before, just like every other player in the league. It's not HOW loud fans are, but WHEN they are that loud that matters. In the Superdome, fans are not cheering over the offensive play calls of Drew Brees.

2013-12-02 07:11:01 PM
The weather will be close to freezing and maybe some snow showers, which should give Seattle an advantage.

2013-12-02 07:12:32 PM
This is going to be either a huge defensive battle or a blowout of epic proportions.  It all depends on which D is the most ready to show up.

2013-12-02 07:13:51 PM

wiseolddude: The weather will be close to freezing and maybe some snow showers, which should give Seattle an advantage.

According to Weather Underground, it should be around 38 at kickoff and cool off from there. They don't predict much precipitation, though. Local weather guys had said snow/sleet was a possibility for the game, but it looks like it probably won't happen.

The Saints losing tonight is what's Best for Business, making next weeks SNF all that more important.

Vernon Davis got tackled by his penis on Sunday. How will Seattle react to this latest escalation in the West Coast Cold War?

2013-12-02 07:17:37 PM
So who has FFL implications for tonight? I have Lynch playing, have a lead of 15 with my opponent playing Brees and Pierre Thomas and win the division and a 1st round bye if I win tonight.  If not, still in the playoff at 7-6. (Highest winner in our league is 8-5; it's been a weird season.)

2013-12-02 07:19:31 PM
I like the Saints. I really do. I root for them most of the time especially when they're beating up on the 40Whiners.  But my Rent Partysense(tm) says they're gonna get stoned tonight.

'Hawks 34, Saints 10.

IDK - he never matters when we play SF anyway. Knocked out of the SEA game last year and had 20 yards this season with a Sherman pick of a pass intended for him.

I think the Seahawks are the better team and have home field.

Hopefully Lynch goes nuts, but Wilson has a pedestrian game. If my kid wins his fantasy game I'm the regular season champ. He's against the only guy that can catch me.

Sorry mikasul. I be SeaTROLLIN' tonight.

I still have Brees in fantasy but I'm already up 30+. He's just icing.

I'm up 24 or so and have no one going against Brees and Lynch. I'm pretty f*cked.

New Orleans: 35. Seattle: 13.

Russel Wilson taken out of the game with a sprained groin after failing to vault a safety.
