AverageAmericanGuy: Bruce Lee was a Jeet Kun Do practitioner starring in action films. What he did was a far cry from the "kung fu" movies. It's an insult to Lee's legacy to even make the comparison.


Except all that Kung Fu he learned.

Jeet Kune Do was what he espoused. It's not a style but a concept.

And he did do Chinese 'gung fu', so there's that. It's actually not a big deal to call him a 'gung/ kung fu' star as it's more correct than calling him a Karate guy, as a lot of knuckleheads still do.
