I'm so cool I've never watched a minute of those 17 seasons.

Also, somewhere John Lithgow is pleased with less dancing in the world.

I don't watch the show, but if they are using number of viewers as the reason for cancelling, they should cancel the Walking Dead as well as DWTS has 12.6 million viewers to 12.2. for WD.

How about they bring back Battle of the Network Stars, then? I miss those chilly swimming pools.

The amount of seasons they crank out in reality land is absurd.

I think Survivor just started its 207th season.

When you run a show year round like this, it shouldn't be a surprise that people get tired of it.

Because an article on the website for NBC's Today Show advocating for canceling a successful ABC show is not biased at all.

Thanks for getting my hopes up, Subby, you sunovabiatch.

/watched the first several seasons until they REALLY started to ramp up the obvious favoritism and rigging
//before it used to be slightly less visible and thus tolerable

STFU and go make Bruno a sammich!

Ha ha. You can't fool me. Who would watch a TV program where people dance?

I doubt it. The place I hang out are so cool you've probably never heard of them.

While they're at it, can they go ahead and cancel Survivor, Big Brother, The Voice, America's Got Talent, The Sing-Off, The X Factor, and American Idol??

I don't watch any of those, so in that sense I'd be okay with getting rid of them.

But it really doesn't matter if they keep them or not because I'm pretty sure whatever they replaced them with I wouldn't watch, either.

The well of Z-list talent is deep and well-nigh limitless. They could go on for years just by giving their "stars" a pack of smokes and a Sizzler gift card each night.

i budget 5 minutes each day for false outrage.  for 2014 I'm cutting back to 3 minutes each day and using the extra 2 minutes on twiddling my thumbs. 1 minute clockwise the other minute counterclockwise.

Needless to say I'm expecting 2014 to be a banner year

Well, you go.

One thing I don't get is that sometimes I see the Today show reporting on who the American Idol winner is...

...why the fark do you give a competitor press?

I don't get this show's appeal at all but I'm also pretty sure whatever they find to replace it with will probably suck just as bad.

At 12.5 million viewers, that is more than any non-football show NBC has.

2013-12-01 09:08:26 PM
The ratings dip has nothing to do with the show content. It's because Brooke Burke hasn't warn a decent low cut dress in like 3 seasons.

Anyone involved in that show should be shot and their bodies dumped for dragging Bristol Palin back out of obscurity.

The same reason people post to say they hate a particular band, or brand of beer, or type of pizza, or pretty much any topic that gets discussed here. Are we only supposed to post in threads on things we like?

I think the death knell for the show began last year when Lindsay Lohan refused to compete.  I mean, if a show is beneath the dignity of Lindsay Lohan, well, that about says it all.

I think it would be awesome if, during the DWTS finals, Tom Bergeron asked the viewers to vote on whether or not they think the 'Today' show should be canceled.  I know he'd have no problem doing it, but the suits at Disney might.

I have never watched this show, but I did stumble across Carrie Ann Inaba.

She was hosting 1 Vs. 100. She seems... a lesser host than Bob Saget.
