That's nothing. Somebody appears to have stolen a ferry in Seattle.

Driver was described as wearing a fedora, sunglasses, and a dark suit.
Same as his accomplice.

How do you steal a ferry? And was it filled with cars?

I can't find anything online, but KOMO is reporting that the Victoria Clipper is out in Elliot Bay with an unauthorized person aboard when it's supposed to be at the dock.

Ahh, but if you recall, it disintegrated at the end of the movie, thus the need for a new Bluesmobile...

Better contact Sergeant Peterson, Chicago Police.

Perhaps it's because they always leave the engines running.

So did the CPD submit a regular telephone or email report for the stolen vehicle like everyone else has too?

2013-12-01 12:31:34 PM
"It was not immediately known how someone took possession of the vehicle"

What an odd way to put it.  That makes it sound like a repo man took it or something.
Don't you mean..."it was not immediately known how someone managed to steal the vehicle"?

This is probably the first property crime they've investigated in years... hope they remember how

In HS I had a friend who stole a cop car. He drove it over to my house to show it off. I told him to get the motherfarking thing out of my driveway and I never saw him again after that. Not surprisingly I heard he was in prison years later.

Free taxi recipe: set off an alarm, wait for cops to leave the squad car to investigate (they usually leave them running, unlocked), take the squad car and DUI yourself to as close to your hovel as need be. Profit.

Guaranteed they'll be fingerprinting, CSI all over that car.

now my 86 hyundai, on the other hand.......

Wow, things have really gone downhill in Chicago. Glad I live in sunny, law-abiding Texas now.

Farking COPs laughed at me when I reported my car stolen in 1975. I'm sure things are better there now.

Chicago police investigate property theft all the time, it just doesn't get media attention.  Stealing another officer's pudding out of the fridge is serious.

Now if only the cop union hadn't fought against GPS and cameras in the squad cars...

2013-12-01 04:51:18 PM
Easy to steal because most cop cars can be started without a key, you just turn the ignition with no key in it.

/I've done it before ;)
//Just sayin!
