Looking at the quality of those artist renditions I suspect the operators got their start with Cyrus McGillicuddy's Miracle Nerve Tonic -- 200% your daily requirement of Mercury in every dollop!

How refreshing to see how many people are still buying 'it's the rich peoples fault' leftist propaganda.

Oh, Jesus, man, that's a goocher! No guys, seriously, a goocher! That's really bad! Remember when Clint Bracken and those guys got wiped out on Reed Hill in Durham? Billy told me they was flippin' for beers, and they came up with a goocher before they got into the car, and bang! They all got totaled! I don't like this, man, sincerely...

If the stupid poors would decide to quit being poor, they would find out how awesome it is to be rich. But even though their effective tax rate would go down, they couldn't get free phones and insurance so it'll probably never happen.

Besides that, you'd have to make sure to get all the heirs on the boat. It would probably be easier to hunt them all individually than try and finagle a swarm on a boat...

Clearly the answer to this simple question is: it's the poor peoples' fault. They have all the advantages, they have the ability to widen the gulf between themselves and the rich, and they have the most to gain by giving up everything in this life for the benefit of those who would use them as a tool. That's why the left wing is wrong, that's why right is right, and that's why things will only get worse: there are more poor people every day. It's sad when you think about it. It really is.

The boat is just phase one. Phase two involves large congregations of heirs at funerals.

It's very ugly; if I were super rich, I'd expect my floating freedom palace to resemble something other than a piece of Nazi architecture.  But then, if I were super rich, I'd cheerfully be a recluse anyway, so I wouldn't want to float with all those other people.

FTFA: "When Nixon first proposed the project in 1999, many accused him of attempting to create a mobile tax shelter for the wealthy. "We are not trying to create an independent country. We are not building a tax haven," he   at the time. "The real reason we are building Freedom Ship is to have fun, make some money and see the world."

Without seeing the hull form, I can't offer any professional opinions about the vessel's stability. This thing would have to have one hell of a DPS, too. The NS Savannah's nuclear propulsion/power plant concept would probably be the only way to make a floating vessel of this magnitude "practical". The hull itself would absolutely have to be titanium to save on paint weight. There is no way it could be dry docked unless it's compartmentally constructed with sponsoned sections (which it would very likely be because iceberg torpedos and sharks with frickin laser beams).

I think it's a great idea.

2013-11-30 01:34:24 PM
I'm not a naval architect, but I'd imagine this thing would snap right in half as soon as it encounters waves bigger than a few feet. Or the keel will have to be made from very flexible poor people.
