Never underestimate the sheer stupidity of a young male.

2013-11-29 04:10:59 PM
I said in a thread that I'm not interested in seeing people hurt other peoples. On the other hand I have no problem with videos of people hurting themselves trying to do stupid things without being forced to.
Well as long as they don't kill themselves or become paralyzed, I won't have much sympathy for them but I won't laugh.

I like the one toward the end where the guy was obviously trying to impress the incoming girls.

I wonder how many of these ended up with serious injuries... there were more than a few cracking sounds, and a couple of them could have ended up with broken necks, broken backs, etc.  Definitely not cool.

2013-11-29 04:30:28 PM
I was fine until 1:50, then I couldn't stop screaming.

Hopefully nothing serious for any of them, at least nothing that some time in an easy chair or a visit to a chiropractor couldn't fix.

Yeah some of those were not funny, unless you are a sociopath. Other ones were hilarious.

Ouch. I'm sure I heard some bones crack at 1:30.

Yeah, this.  I saw a whole string where they basically landed on their bent necks.  That's a recipe for a broken neck.  The guy who tipped the table and landed hard with the metal base across his back made me jump in my seat, too.

Not cool.

2013-11-29 06:03:40 PM
I couldn't watch at all past that guy who fell on the table base. I suspect he probably very easily broke his back on that one.

The only people who should really watch this are idiots who do this sort of stuff and think they are invincible.

They are not invincible.

Stupid farking people do stupid farking things.

I cringed when I watched these. Some were hilarious, some were terrifying. They made my spine tingle.

Then I wiggled my toes, and remembered why I don't try dumb shiat like this.

2013-11-29 07:26:51 PM
I didn't really laugh while watching the video. It's was more of a collection of groans and "holy fark, what the shiat"s.

I blame Jackie Chan for all this.

Jackie Chan inspiring this stuff reminds me of the joke about Superman being a dick when he drinks...but with Wolverine instead.

/hardest to watch was the guy landing on the driftwood. That is not good.

2013-11-29 08:42:27 PM
Some of these people landed so badly and hard, they probably just started blinking and faded away like a dead video game character.

Most of the REAL parkour practitioners I've watched have extensive backgrounds in gymnastics and the like.  These are just kids that could do a backflip and said "Hey, I saw some dude on the internet do this off a skyscraper, I bet I could do that!".

I don't know about most of those, but the dude trying to "fly" down the escalator bannisters ... yeah, that ended about as well as you can imagine. Face first down the sharp edges of the escalator steps.  The video I saw didn't show much of the aftermath, so I don't know exactly how bad it was, but there was a lot of blood in a pretty short period of time, so I'm certain it involved an ER visit and morphine.

Kid has a visibly broken arm at 6:03...  ouch.

These clips are always cut short. I'd like to see what happened afterward. Not gory images or anything, just some idea of whether people were really hurt.

In dedicated training facilities with padded everythings.

Pretty much.  I'd say these were good teaching moments except I'm not sure many of them didn't result in broken necks.

I had to stop watching, my testicles simply couldn't handle it.  When I saw your comment, I immediately flipped back to that tab ... I made it to 1:52.

2013-11-29 11:49:36 PM
Yeah... I've seen a few of these outside of this montage, and I know firsthand that a few of them result in floppy half-limbs or fountains of blood from the mouth and nose. They've been graciously edited out here.

The guy flying down the beach hill abdomen-first into a tree branch made my whole body curl up. I can only imagine the internal injuries.

This is the one that made me ask "Did he died?"  There was no way that guy was walking away from that.

Yep, I remember the escalator video, his face was was bleeding heavily.  I still have no idea what he was attempting to do.

I think he thought he could support his weight with his hands and feet splayed like that and just slide down the bannisters superman-style.  Even ignoring his spectacularly gruesome failure to do so, how did he plan on sticking the landing?

Morons be morons.

I can only watch so many of those in a row. I made it two minutes.

I'm not so much bothered by the violent damage they cause themselves (I can easily continue to eat a meal while watching a beheading, as I've found out) but something about the sheer stupidity of so many people doing this to themselves grinds away at me.

I watched it all and laughed hysterically while thanking these guys (it's always guys, you don't find women this dumb) who are making our streets safer. I wouldn't like to be walking around and some idiot flies into me.

Due to this FAQ transgression, someone needs to have their Power Rangers taken away for at least a week.

Whats with all the snuff getting greenlit on fark these days? I'm pretty sure I saw a separate vid of one of these accidents where the kid broke his back. Not finding it on google, but I heard bone break on a few of those landings.

I much prefer the sort of accident vid where the people get up and walk away, or at least demonstrate that they survived.

I love watching people fail as much as the next interneter.. but even for me some of these made me cringe enough that I had to turn it off.

SURELY thanks to tosh.o and videos like this, people will have to see that they can't replicate parkour stunts. Even the jackass crew didn't try some of this shiat!

Wasn't it mentioned a month or two ago that Drew's kid would be in charge of the video tab for a while?  I wonder if that's why we're getting a lot more fights & human misery videos.

"Oh no, I don't need insurance, it's just a waste of money.  I'm young and I heal well"

Son, some of those?  You don't come back from and even if you do, sooner or later it's gonna crop up and bite you in the ass and you'll be mystified why you've suddenly developed this mysterious upper vertebral issue.

my balls retracted on more than a few of those, but its not worse than a majority of the things i have seen on the internet.  i actually have more trouble watching stuff like this than straight up executions or sudden impact deaths from years of holding buddies hands, waiting for ski patrol to come get them off the landing of a jump or even worse, a bunch of idiot snowboarders half assedly trying to get someone down off the mountain pass with hours to go before medical attention arrived.  Just get the board unstrapped and DONT MOVE MAN STOP MOVING. as to where real headshots or 90 mph into a wall, you know they were just gone.  no suffering or excruciating pain.  tibfibs always seemed to hurt the most from what i have seen.  just... it makes me cringe hard seeing protracted pain.
and seeing floppy limbs just.... i have to look away.  ive seen enough IRL with bone snaps.
dunno, internet desensitization is a strange thing.  i remember getting stoned and watching faces of death in dingy basements in high school.
/in no way meant to be 'edgy'
//just how seeing things like this effects me after seeing a share of lethal and non lethal injuries in the meatspace
