The way those pics show it i would hate to be the one at the bottom of that 8500 foot cliff.

Anyone know the terminal velocity of crap?
Would it freeze and remain solid on the way down?
Would it break apart and shower the unsuspected passerby, of simply splatter like cow shiat on a flat rock?
What about Monteczuma's Revenge? That would truly suck being at the receiving end of that icicle of poo.

Ive got a hunch it isn't as bad as the two pics in the article show it to be. Why wouldnt they show the rear a little better? It must be propped up and if the pics showed a better angle, there wouldnt be an article senstaional enough to read. Just sayin'

Would really like to see what it looks like on the inside, especially the view from the "hole"
I envision a straight view down a sheer cliff with the ocean below.
Imagine your nether regions exposed to sub zero wind, while dropping a deuce.
Imagine the view looking up from below ...
Imagine what the side of that cliff looks like as frozen turds bounce off it in the wind.

2013-11-29 10:57:02 AM
They should have included a photo looking straight down through the hole.

From the second picture, it just looks like the poop would simply fall to the angled ground two feed below and tumble down (or more likely, stick there) instead of dropping down 8500 feet in a spectacular Wile E. Coyote-like fashion.

Finally, a toilet I could use without the end of my penis dangling in the water when I sit.

They said it's at an altitude of 8,500 feet, not that the cliff is 8,500 feet tall.  It could be all of 20 feet from what you can see in the photos.

I suppose that depends on what you had for lunch, though at a remote weather station in siberia I doubt you've got a lot of options. (leftover yaksicles again, eh? Fine...)

Pretty much this.  Neither photo showed any appreciable cliffside.  You know they'd have included the acrophobic-sphincter-clenching photos if there were any.  Those guys are just crapping on a gentle slope.

Reminds me of when the family and I visited the Zugspitz in the German Alps. The toilets were just pipies leading straight out and down the mountainside.

My stepdaughter was grossed out.

Good point. BECAUSE, if you're not willing to hurl yourself off an 8500' cliff to get a different camera angle on an outhouse, maybe photojournalism isn't for you.

If you gotta go you gotta go. As long as it's secure I'd have no problem dropping a kid off at that high altitude pool.

Would it be a LOT safer and easier to just shiat anywhere on the ground pick it up with a scoop or hand etc and toss it over the cliff?
I mean millions of people do that everyday with their dogs.

When I was in Holy Loch Scotland the houses around the Loch all had sewer pipe that ran straight from the toilet (and everything else) into the Loch. They said that you could flush a toilet and then run outside to see it floating away. I don't doubt that as we were allowed to blow our shiatters straight into the Loch as well.

/the fish loved it

Pile of rocks needs to be a lot bigger and/or moment arm in the rocks side of that contraption a lot longer. Ah fark it. I wouldn't step foot nor arse in that thing.

I'd shiat it.

Millions of people scoop up their dogs and toss them off of cliffs? That's outrageous!

There's also the good old fashioned chamber pot. Picking shiat up with your hand isn't the most sanitary option.

I encountered something like this on Mt. Kilimanjaro.  The outhouse was at 12,000', the drop only a few hundred feet.

Nope, not gonna, no way, uh-uh, evar.

Only five people use it because everybody else shiats their pants just thinking about it.

2013-11-29 07:20:16 PM
And why did five men put an outhouse in such a remote high dangerous place, they didn't want to listen to a woman complain about the seat being left up.

I sure as hell wouldn't be baring my backside in sub-zero temps EVER! I'd use a handicapped toilet chair inside, then carry it out!

Wait, I would never willingly go ANYWHERE sub-zero, so I don't have to worry about this!

I was born with a tropical soul.

I forgot to add that the word five in the headline has a superfluous i in it.

Proofreading fail subby.

Sorry, feeling very OCD after TDay...
