was it a high-capacity assault knife?

From reading TFA is sounds like the guy with the knife also had the gun.

Yup. I'm thinking it was a Punisher type situation.

The real victims of this are the people who tried to read TFA.

Yes it does, but then it says the guy that got sliced was also charged. Editing -- does anyone do if any more?

There are no winners in this story, literally or metaphorically.

Well, it is Walmart, there are really dumb people who go there.  I walked out of the local one once, and saw a man screaming at someone...because they were parked on the unloading lines between the handicapped spots.  They couldn't be convinced they were in the wrong.

\though it was also a Prius, so it might have been Prius stupidity instead of Walmart stupidity....

It's like watching chocolate pudding plop in a bowl.

That's about right.

Some old fat guy tried to start a fight over a parking space with me at a sears many years ago. I let him have it. The parking space that is.

The glory that comes from beating up a senior citizen in a parking is just not worth the arrest record in my opinion.

I also once broke up an almost fist fight between two women over a shopping cart in a Home Depot.

I'm going with "no"

Didn't bother reading TFA based on "WTF am I reading" comments, but knives have a habit of winning gunfights.  Tueller Drill.  Learn it, live it, love it.

This escalated into a threat with a firearm, and then Hieatt says Sharp used a knife to cut Jackson in the arm, slicing down to the bone.

Victim was lucky the perp wasn't named Shooter, I suppose.

I don't get people like this.  They'll spend a lot of time and gas cruising every isle until they find the parking spot closest to the door.  Sometimes even blocking off the traffic lanes for a good while if they see someone loading up a car to leave.  I escape all that crap by just parking in the back of the lot and walking the extra distance to the store.

Or handicap stupidity. Many seems to use the special plate as an excuse, the rest are that dumb.

Subby here. This is the quality of writing that is the norm for journalism here. Every newscast seems to involve several seconds of staring at different cameras with a blank, panicked look.

The Tazewell County Sheriffs Office is handling the case.

That's awesome

Plus, you get the bonus of a little exercise and no worries about someone scratching up your car with their car door or a cart.

Exactly!  Less stress!  I get in, purchase what I came for, and get out!  Hakuna Matata!
