It was neat how the one cat had 2 different colored eyes. Wouldn't have been close enough to see that otherwise.

Can we try playing with a laser pointer with lions?

Would have been better if he had driven the RC car off and taken pictures while they chased it.

I wanted to see more shots of them gnawing on it and carrying it off. Still, beautiful shots.

Amazing incompetent like only "scientific, (whale wars)" types can be.

I can do better with an RC and a cheap GoPro + some duct tape.

Talk more.  No, really, you're quite entertaining sitting there doing exactly nothing.

How many of those photos were identical to the last thing our ancestors every saw? Well, mostly not our actual ancestors', but their relatives' last thing ever seen anyway.

/farking terrifying that would be, I'll take the morphine drip, thanks!

Yeah, I noticed that one in the distant shots. The right side of her face was all sorts of farked up.

Not many, really. Man eaters are rare, but there are some good accounts of them. The Man Eaters of Tsavo is worth a read - there was a good movie called The Ghost and the Darkness based on the book.

And just like any housecat's toys, it lasted about thirty seconds before it got torn to shreds.

Read the book, saw the movie, marvelled at the dead posed lions in the Chicago Field Museum. But I wasn't just talking modern lions, big cats like the sabertooth ate us like we were their own personal larder. Likewise everything from Bear-Dogs (seriously, that was a thing? dayum) to dire wolves and giant hyanas and megalions. But mainly the big cats, they look so... menacing.

Maybe they are rare because the ones that put the smart monkeys on their diets did not live long enough to pass their genes.

Yeah. I think the blue eye had been injured. There seemed to be a scar next to that eye. Poor kitty.

Btw...

The lions attacked the RC camera because lions do not take sh** from anyone...

they just have too much pride for that. :D

2013-11-29 06:37:35 PM
If they'd have had a second, cheaper RC with a dead chicken strapped to it they could have probably distracted the lions from the first one a little easier...
