Was anyone talking about this? Has anyone talked about this at all in the last 10 years? Where's this constant drumbeat in the media about this staged photo op?
Say, anyone remember being called traitors and terrorist sympathizers because we questioned the Iraq war?

The reporters who accompanied the president weren't able to share the real story until after they departed Baghdad...

If this happened today, there would be endless right-wing outrage about the pResident censoring the media.

And seriously fark you --fark. you.-- for daring to try to equate the problems with a website to the clusterfark of Iraq.

Kill yourself. Seriously. Kill yourself now.

President and Laura Bush's Deviled Eggs Recipe

12 large eggs, boiled hard and peeled
1 Tbsp (plus) soft butter
1 Tbsp (plus) mayonnaise
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp Yucatan Sunshine Habanero sauce
Salt to taste

Cut eggs in half and set aside. Put egg yolks in food processor and add all ingredients. Process for 20 seconds or until mixture has blended. Check for taste and increase mustard, salt or Habanero sauce if desired. Place mixture in piping bag with star tip and pipe into egg halves. Sprinkle with paprika and chopped parsley. Chill for about an hour before serving.

"They were dumfounded - they just couldn't believe he would do it,"   Mr Bartlett told The Washington Times this week, saying it helps explain the former president's ongoing bond with the troops he committed to two wars.

How dumb do you have to be to spell the word "dumbfounded" wrong?

Dumb enough to think that Bush's war of choice was a pretty neat idea and that veterans love him for it, apparently.

It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius, he can't get anyone to notice. He is like a great painter or musician who is ahead of his time, and who unveils one masterpiece after another to a reception that, when not bored, is hostile.

I don't even remember that. Did it even go mainstream, or was it just another manufactured issue in the right-wing echo chamber about what they thought the left-wing would think.

I remember the surprise visit, the Mission Accomplished banner, and even the picture with the live turkey, but more than anything else, the body count each day. If I heard about the "fake" turkey, I DIDN'T CARE ENOUGH TO REMEMBER. And you shouldn't either.

The "Mission Accomplished" banner pissed me off.

IIRC, he could have taken a chopper, but insisted on the jet so he could play dress up. Then there was something about having the ship change direction/course so they could get shots of it without the landline in the background.

Pretty petty stuff whether it's true or not. I do remember being infuriated about the banner, though. That took balls.

a three page story about a fake turkey 'scandal' i have literally never heard of until today? ooookay.

i don't know why anyone would think it was a fake turkey... but if it was just decoration i think it probably should've been fake. i think i am more upset that it wasn't fake honestly. seems like a big waste of a turkey to just cook it up and have it sit on the table uneaten.

I think the reason people considered it to be fake was that the turkey looked like it weighed 20+ lbs uncooked. Then you add in another 4+ lbs of stuffing and trimmings, and then you have the president waltz that thing in like it was about 3 lbs made people suspicious that it was real.

I have literally never heard of this "scandal" until today when the ever-increasingly derptastic Washington Times claimed that it's been a thing for the last decade.  This is nothing more than projection from people that try to make everything about Obama a scandal trying to make themselves look reasonable by claiming they aren't the only offenders of creating bullshiat scandals.

And I live in commie-soshulizt-atheist-Murika-greatness-denyin'-hippie land.

I think I remember reading about this on FARK, but do not remember any thing or anyone pushing back on it being real.

I do remember the "made in china" being covered up on the boxes and the absolute complete failure of the media to take the administration to task for such a jack ass move.

And yeah I was outraged.

Your spoiled, rich, worthless white boy was one of the worst U.S. Presidents.
Barack Obama has so far been one of our better ones.
That's how history will see it, and y'all know it.
All your flailing and screeching is completely wasted on the people who will be running this country in 15 years.

Bush: Lied 5000 Americans to their deaths.
Obama: Misspoke about some shiatty, substandard insurance policies.

And some people have the moral perspective that allows them to compare these two Presidents.
