Henchman: That's because before A&E ate from the Tree of Knowledge they didn't realize that boobies were a sin.

From the website:

"Future plans for the Holy Land Experience include authentic Israeli checkpoints throughout the park, and a realistic suicide bombing at random moments in your sacred experience. Also, look out for the exciting Crusader mass beheadings and Torquemada's Techniques of Torture Exhibition."

I swear. It was there a minute ago.

The Holy Land experienced...
Does this mean it takes you 40 years to get there,
Get all kinds of promises from the authorities that this is the amusement park you've been waiting for you entire life,
You have to kill all the people that where already at the park before you can get in,
After a few moments of peace have the park taken over by Babylonians,
Lose half your family to different family,
Get spread out throughout the entire surrounding area,
Get accused by the locals for everything from witchcraft to conspiring to overthrow the local government,
Get killed and tortured for said accusations,
Get back to the park find the other half of your family living there with their new family,
Kick them out of the park and start an ugly feud that seems like its only possible end is the destruction of either one of the participants or the park itself,

Ahh, still better than a trip Disney World.

Just wondering- does St. Peter have one of those "you must be this tall..." signs at the entrance to Heaven?

Holy Land amusement park- Salvation for a modest fee.

I love the rollercoster ride SINAI MOUNTAIN - the line is always long but the best part is when you pass the burnining bush - Some people say it is a knock off of Space Mountain but I disagree!!!

These crooked Christians (okay, that's a redundancy) are really screwing up this state.
Of course, one could argue that Orlando is such an overflowing cesspool of corruption that an "amusement" park like this should locate in the Orlando area. Obviously they didn't pay off the county commission's annual "fee" to overlook this legal entanglement.
If there is a god I'd like to see him get on a big bulldozer and level Orange County, leaving only the airport and Highway 4, so I can still get to Ybor City as quickly as possible.

there should be an extra tax for churches not the other way around, geez people

I think it's important to know Pat Robertson's involvement in this suit. His Va. Beach based Regent University (Near his CBN - home of the 700 Club) is slowly producing Christian Lawyers with the single goal of going forth and working their religious magic on the American legal system. Keep your eyes open folks... The only difference between people like the Taliban and Christian Fundamentalist coming out Regent is that the later works in much more subtle ways to undermine American ideals. ;-)

Has anyone ever been to the Oral Roberts University & seen the little Theme Ride / Show = Journey thru the Old Testement? It is very scary. As Wfrgms says: Be very wary of these folk!!!!

Apparently this park boasts the most thrilling, entertaining, spiritually enlightening roller coaster in the univesre, but it's guarded by a secuirty guy with a double-edged spinning sword of fire.

NaTaX-

In C++ programing != means not equal. I was condos that TV evangalists are not churches and (&& in c++) are not non-profit. I think that churches shouldn't be taxed (provided the are trully non-profit, I'm not counting a TV station with faith healing non-profit) but any sort of business venture, i.e. theame parks and condos, are not non-profit or churches. Sorry about the confusion.

For some reason every other few words I typed didn't get posted. I was saying condos don't equal churches and aren't non-profit so they should be taxed. Real non-profit churches shouldn't be taxed.

Remember when Disney bought the Vatican?

EXTREME LEFT POSITION: Exempt from taxes? What the fark? These dumbass sycophantic christians should be taxed out of their fricken pathetic skulls. They clearly are not worthy of being exempt from any taxes!

MID-LEFT POSITION: This is obviously a ploy to fight for and win tax-exempt status so they can funnel various profits to fund politicans who will attempt to legislate their specific moral agendas.

CENTER: Tax the profits, not the costs, and demand full and regular disclosure of finanical reports.

MID-RIGHT POSITION: So long as they use the money primarily for the purposes of park maintenance and operations, they should be exempt.

EXTREME RIGHT POSITION: Taxes!? They want to tax Jesus!? These unholy heathen secular sinners have no right to tax anybody! I wish they would all burn in hell as God laughs at their screams! And don't you say thats sadistic! God's sadism is okay because it is HOLY!

2001-12-05 05:00:32 PM
(MY) EXTREME LEFT POSITION: Churches are a business just like any other and should be taxed as such. Not taxing this theme park because it is operated by a religious entity violates both separation of church and state and equal protection under the law.

Where are you in Wisc? I'm over here by Eau Claire

Shogo Yahagi - I actually agree with you. In fact I think the 1st Amendment to our Constitution has been completely pissed upon since 9-11.

Boojieboy - Waukesha (thats pronounced "waw kee shaw" by the Potawatomi indians)

someone should explain to them there's a difference between being a nonprofit organization, and non-profitable organization.

... NOPE.

The idea of christianity has caused the demise of hundreds of cultures, thousands of religions, and billions of lives.

Nuff said.
