And if you swear while playing NBA 2K14, you get a technical foul.  I like the 4th wall breaking, but I wish they'd do it with things other than swearing.

- People who argued against dedicated servers because "piracy" complain about the lack of options available to them for dealing with miscreants.

- Intelligent, mature adults complain that stupid, immature kids are getting the better of them through voice chat.

- Microsoft is Hitler if Hitler was a game console, and this is why I'm buying a PlayStation 4, because I also vote for Democrats over Republicans and think it changes things.

- Computer video game players--who now play games on a platform where the most popular games League of Legends, DotA 2, Team Fortress 2, and so forth--argue how buying consoles are for casuals.

Meh. When you use Upload Studio, you are specifically told that your upload/commentary may be checked before it's viewable by others.

This is no different from swearing in your profile, which is also against the Xbox Live Code of Conduct.

I am OK with this. Hell put some speech recognition in game and give time outs for cursing. Maybe let there be a 'adult' mode where you can say whatever you want. Let the parents set parental controls limiting their kids to online games in 'pg13' language if they'd like.

I'd look at it like going to the laser tag. IF I just show up and start calling people names and cursing like crazy I will probably get tossed. If I rent the place out (private game) and am playing with adult friends they probably don't care. It shouldn't be that hard to do the same thing with speech recognition honestly.

We just went through a massive faux-outrage a month ago, when it was revealed that Microsoft reserved the right to monitor in game chat channels in their XBL TOS.

Of course, we all know it's for the purposes of digitizing you and uploading your consciousness into the NSA mastergigaultradataframe, and not for preventing the sorts of abuse that everyone complains about.

When your teammates are racist 8 year olds there is no way to communicate with them.

Also, you could just not play CoD. There are plenty of similar games that are better and have a more mature player base.

Then don't mute those people.

Seriously you're trying to create a problem where there isn't one. If all they're doing is making racist/sexist/homophobic/etc. remarks, they probably aren't contributing to the team. So mute them.

Probably because they are racist, homophobic, misogynists.  I don't care if I'll get shot in the head for saying the N-word on xbox live because I'd never say it.

If you're getting your panties in a wad over not being able to say certain words, that just means you're one of those people who think it's ok to use them.

I'm not defending what they do in the slightest, I'm pointing out that there's a very easy solution to it. Why should Xbox or Playstation or Steam or any other platform have to invest money in a problem that's easily fixed on the user side and has already been implemented for years?

Your picture shows the personal mute switch.  That doesn't mute other players.

To mute other players, you have to go in to the XBox menus, check their profile, and mute them from there.

Trying to do that in the middle of a match is very time consuming and is sure to result in you getting killed or losing the race.
