This chip brought to you by The National Corn Growers Association.

Fat bad. Sugar good.

ecmoRandomNumbers: This chip brought to you by The National Corn Growers Association.

Fat bad. Sugar good.

It measures the fat in your blood levels. So if the sugar is being converted into fat, it would spike your blood levels and cause the hormone to be released. In fact, probably more quickly than if you were just eating fat.

At least this is a degree more cool than that guy that implanted chip which amounted to a thermometer in himself.

Meh. Big deal. I have a neural net processor in my head that tells me when to stop eating.

Pretty sure a "release chemical based on blood assay" chip would be a lot more immediately useful for diabetics.

Which tells me this is in the early development stage.

Because the *real* problem is the lack of monitoring systems as opposed to the excruciatingly difficult "eat less, move more" system.

Lardass.

"Gee. I wonder if I should have 3rd helping? What do you say chip? No? I think you're malfunctioning so I'm going to do it anyway and still wail and rant about how I just can't seem to lose the weight. Despite the magic of micro-chips!"

Ah! Now see! This is a perfect example of humankind's problem solving genius. Let that be a lesson to you anti-global warming types ... there can be no terraforming, atmospheric scrubbers without all the drilling and the spilling.

It should update your facebook status with the results at least 4x a day.

Is it the new Cyberdyne Systems chip?

The hell is a lostprophets tag doing here?  Unless we're talking about eating baby back ribs.

OK, go ahead - eat more. And remember: I'm only doing this because I like your robot.

I LOL'ed.

Real question is whether a nagging SO is cheaper or more effective, I'd like to see a study on that.

I, for one, salute our new thinner chip overlords.

And it was delicious. BURP.

Nagging SO just leads to anger and rebellious instincts and potential secret eating, which is bad and ineffective.

What about special glasses that make you anthropomorphize food and hear it scream?

"It would constantly check for fat in the blood and, when someone has eaten too much, release a hormone that sates hunger."

Obese people don't eat because they're hungry, they eat because it's a habit, because food tastes good, because they're depressed and food comforts them and for a dozen other reasons. Giving someone an extra dose of hormones to null their appetite isn't going to do them a damn bit of good. Go make an implant that induces lock jaw and you'll have something.

If you're 300 Lbs, you should stop eating. You shouldn't need someone or something to tell you that.
