Well this sucks. I didn't buy wood this year, so I know it's going to be priced sky high.
I've got a friend that has a chain saw and there's this tree that probably needs to go that's near my house.

While at the store Sunday for my regular grocery run, I chose not to do my Thanksgiving shopping and to wait until Wednesday.

I chose poorly. Goddamitsomuch.

A foot of show and some significant snowdrifting are called for here.

that's why I live on the coast in Norcal.

/winter blows.

2013-11-26 06:50:56 PM
It kinda snowed yesterday, but today we've had no clouds and an open sky.

I hope some people die waiting in line for BF

The stores in PA look like people are expecting this to be the last time in months they'll be able to buy food.

It's drizzling out.

Storm should be gone by lunch tomorrow after leaving 2 inches of rain.

Who the fark cares?

Everyone but me, apparently.

Good chunk of my family all ready cancelled their drives, will be a small thanksgiving this year...

Have a 3.5 hour drive (ideally) tomorrow, but looks like where I am it'll be mostly wind and rain... just hoping the rain doesn't turn to ice when I get to the mountains

This is the same system that dumped 2.5 inches of snow in my yard and sent overnight temps plummeting into the mid 20's.
Difficulty: Southern New Mexico. I was bemoaning the shiatty weekend, but it beats having that system over our heads for Thanksgiving (currently forecast for sunny and 60)

2013-11-26 06:54:42 PM
and here i sit in northern Montana, no snow on the ground and it's gonna be in the 50's all week.  this is crazy.

Liquor store here in central MD was mostly empty, got in and out with no problems. Getting to and fro was a hot mess. It's raining.

I'll probably hit up the grocery store tomorrow afternoon, get the last couple things we need for Thursday.

Ha. When you said it was mostly empty I'd thought it'd been looted.

It's only a problem because someone decided that a family travel heavy holiday had to happen at the beginning of winter. In the middle of winter, when the roads and airport have already been cleared and there's no seasonal transition might work better, or even double plus good, visit your family in the summer. Then the worst you have to dodge is a flying cow.

Its nothing but a big cloud. All the precipitation is on, or going to be on, the East coast. Suck it up, get in the car and start driving.

I expect more from you, Fark.

It's not that bad. That's just a lot of clouds. We have some snow and its windy here (Milwaukee) but the real storm stuff is on the east coast from Maine to Florida. Ha. Suck it, east coast.

85 and sunny here in Kihei.

Its a bit windy outside. And intermittent sprinkling of rain. Otherwise most of the week has been beautiful and around 75 degrees.

Oh but um, Florida bad.

It's been beautiful here in Humboldt for the last several days with bright blue skies and warm winds out of the east.

I'm okay with snow where it belongs: in the hills and mountains.

According to the forecast we're going to be mid 60s on Thursday and back into the 70s by this weekend.

Have fun, southerners. We're used to that shiat up here. You guys panic if you have to drive on 1/16" of snow.

My thanksgiving dinner includes but is not limited to baloney samich and Mexican coke.  And work of course.

You know full well that, when this sort of thing happens in Oregon, before the storm hits people will have cleaned the grocery stores out of canned goods.

Not fresh produce, mind you... not milk or bread; canned goods.

I have always wondered what happens to all that canned stuff a day later when the storm has blown over.

the Suomi satellite

Great, Finland's got a weather control satellite. Remember what they did to Russia in WWII? Buckle up!

That's some weird kind of X-Ray storm.  You can see the state boundaries only when looking through it.  Cool!

Right: the key difference here from the rest of the country: well-behaved snow.

You anywhere near SC? I have a chainsaw and about five good sized trees that need to go on my property.

Hey, free firewood...
