If he's so much wiser than every youtube user he should go make the only worthwhile post.

You poor bastard.  I wish you luck in your masochistic quest, eh?

There are plenty of constructive comments under my videos, I've also had some people ask how I put a video together. Mostly decent responses... but you;ve got to post good videos for that to happen.

Crappy videos will always get crappy comments. Even more hilarious when the uploader responds. I'm not perfect, and my videos are sometimes rushed from editing software to the channel. All that really matters is that I enjoy creating it and that some of the people I share my videos with enjoy it as well. My skin is thick enough to weather the most thoughtless of comments and listen to the criticisms that will help me improve.

This was relevant back in 2011. Now? Not so much.

Youboob is really going all-out to promote themselves today, eh?

-tiny penis guy
-drowning in a sea of ascii penises
-now this dude, who's probably going to end up revealing that he has a penis

Yup, with all these penis-angle stories, they're going to attract a user base significantly different from the 11 year old boys who normally post all the comments there.

My friend long ago coined the term 'youboob' to describe the idiots commenting on youtube.

Before Google ruined YouTube and I posted videos I'd always disable comments.

Eh, even non-morons don't bother effortposting in youtube comments. It'd be like pissing into an ocean... of urine.

Well, he's not totally nuts. It's not like he's looking on FARK.

When I think Fark comments on a story get racist, I remember what it's like to read comments for any Youtube video that shows a minority. It's horrible over there. Makes me wonder how many of those commenters are people I work with, have as neighbors, whatever.

LesserEvil: Crappy videos will always get crappy comments.

And youtube has a bit of a problem with crappy videos, which is the real problem at the heart of it all. Even the most popular videos and channels are generally mindless.

I mainly just watch documentaries and lectures, or listen to radio shows there, and the conversations are civil and constructive for the most part.

And he's not going for that "smart anti-marketing dollar", either.
Seriously - do it.

came here to say something like this.

it all depends where you go, what you put up, and who you choose to interact with. I do a lot of radio control and simular traditional "hobbies" the comments are usually filled with folks discusing the stuff and not having a flame war over it.
