FTFA: For too long women in our society have been judged by their appearance rather than their accomplishments and made subject to the ignorant assaults of men

And then subby called her a "hottie".

Almost Everybody Poops: Car_Ramrod: The mistake conservatives and libertarians keep making is that we try to be polite to the criminals and crazies of the left, hoping that they will grow up. They never do, and they assume our courtesy is just weakness. We think we can negotiate compromise with evil, but aside from the moral failure of that approach, the liberals never accept comprise - they just keep demanding more (the John McCain fallacy).

We don't want to become as dishonest and criminal as they are, but that means that we damn well have to learn to be just as tough, or more so.

Hey you're stealing my schtick!

Zeb Hesselgresser: Lee Jackson Beauregard: Remember, boys and girls:  It is sexist to call a moran a moran if she's a woman.

Probably for the same reason that it's racist to disagree with a black person, eh?

Just remember she's a harpist, not a harpie.  While she may be a lightweight, not a sexist term, considering that Congress isn't exactly a font of deep thinking intellectuals, that should not disqualify her.

timujin: Saying that she's of the same ilk as another politician, but that the difference is that she wears heels, is not misogynistic.  Calling her a mental lightweight or comparing her unfavorably to someone like Kim Kardashian is also not misogynistic.  Words have meanings, learn to use them.

Stupid Lib.  Any insult made by a Liberal toward a Conservative woman is full-on misogyny, just as any insult made by a Liberal toward a Black Conservative is vile racism.  (Note that this does not work the other way; a Conservative calling Nancy Pelosi a cast-iron biatch on wheels is merely disagreement with democrat party policy.)

It's mildly sexist. The guy should apologize. It's possible to avoid gender stereotypes while attacking her on issues.

What if you said that a particular candidate should be in the kitchen instead of in the white house or some such?  I mean, you could technically say that of either a man or a woman, so if you happened to say it about a woman it wouldn't be sexist, right?

/ sexist or not, it's certainly petty name calling.  Unless Kardashian has entered politics herself, I don't see why comparing a politician to her is relevant.

Part of me wants to agree with you, but the other part of me gets a kick out of something like one of you guys referring to Sarah Palin as "Snow Snooki" a couple weeks ago.

Given that Palin abruptly left public service mid-term for a life of grifting and 'reality' television, I think anybody should be able to call her "snow Snooki" and still rest easy at night.

Ehhh..I'm not super comfortable with comparing someone to another person "..in heels". That's sort of the same thing as  McConnell calling his female opponent an "empty dress".  I also don't see why he had to compare her to Kim Kardashian- does she have a reality TV show? Is she married to a jackass?

Why not "she's a right wing hack who will not be good for the state".  Take the higher ground.

However, apologizing to Kim Kardashian is hilarious.
