I have to wonder how many other doctored 60 Minutes stories have been aired over the years.

Nice boobs.

wesmon: The only surprising thing about this is why 60 Minutes hired a shameless Neo-Con "reporter" like Logan in the first place. She has a long history of activism for her pet causes (wars.)

Oh, and hot.

Because CBS, like the rest of the mainstream media, has a strong conservative bias.

probably like 5000!

... Audi 5000.

basically completely killed the brand in the US for close to 2 decades. all based on ignorant drivers and a car doctored by 60 Minutes.

Poncho Denews was definitely there that night.

doyner: According to a summary of findings, Orly Taitz, CBS News's executive director of standards and practices, found that the "wider reporting resources of CBS News were not unleashed to determine the credibility of a key part of the broadcast - a security contractor in Benghazi named Joe the Plumber, who told Logan that on the night of the attack - Sept. 11, 2012 - he had been on the ground for the clash with terrorists."

I could see her at CNN or MSNBC over Fox.

Grungehamster: Despite this only being a leave of absence, expect her to be getting job offers from conservative media sources outrages at the mistreatment of her simply for being the only member of the Lamestream Media willing to speak the truth about what happened that night and not drink the Obama Kool-Aid.

If she weren't raped by a bunch of Islamists while on the clock at CBS, they certainly would have s-canned her

Did anyone check her source for that story?

The last Lara Logan thread had so many white knights coming out because of her sexual assault story, they took Jerusalem.

In 2004, CBS News ran with a story about Bush's national guard service, or lack thereof. (My mother still desperately wants to believe that Bush single-handedly took Pork Chop Hill with an assault rifle in one hand, his wounded buddy slung over his shoulder, and an American flag clenched in his teeth.) The evidence in the story didn't stand up to scrutiny. In the aftermath, four producers were fired, and the anchor - a 41-year veteran of the organization - was forced to step down and eventually resign.

It didn't take long for it to become clear that this wasn't enough for the George Wills and Cal Thomases of the world, that nothing shy of a full confession of traitorous intent and a complete cessation of all broadcasting activities would suffice. The conservative media came down upon CBS News like a thunderstorm, and refused to let up for months.

They've been oddly silent about this one, I've noticed. (Lindsey Graham has done everything but pound a table sobbing "It's real to me, dammit!") There are no accusations of bias, no demands for resignations. They haven't even really brought it up. There are a few firebrands in the local paper who are just too, too upset over Obamacare to mention it, when they couldn't go five words without four of them being "Benghazi!" in previous statements.

There's a lesson to be learned there, which I'm sure they'll do their damnedest to ignore.

She's still smoking hot.  She'll be back on the air with CBS in no time.

Really, who would you rather see on 60 Minutes?  Lara Logan or Leslie Stahl, the queen of fluff, BS reporting?

Thought so.  Lara Logan screwed up but she is still pretty good.  Her other spots are usually very on the nose.

Plus, I'll say it again: SHE'S HOT!  You can listen to her voice all day...

And when it comes to journalism, that's what matters... apparently.

One thing you must give Lara Logan is the smarts she used in a career choice. Sure she could have, and almost did apparently, go the actress/model route. The only problem with being an actress/model however, and this is where Logan is a smart little prostitute, is that when thrown into that pool of women she's rather plain jane, but pass herself off as a hard-hitting investigative journalist, and now she sticks out. Sarah Palin understands how to work this arena as well. People like the imbecile above screaming, "OMG she's SO hot!", will notice her more than if she were the bim guesting on this week's Chicago Fire.

Shakin_Haitian: Lara Logan has a vested interest in war. Her husband is a defense contractor.

he also got paid to provide pro US propaganda to middle eastern media by the Bush admin.

What most people don't know, however, is the nature of Burkett's work in Iraq. He was an employee of the Lincoln Group, a now-shuttered "strategic communications and public relations firm" hired by the Department of Defense in 2005 to plant positive stories written by American soldiers in Baghdad newspapers during the Iraq War."He did information operations," one former colleague of Burkett's told Gawker. "It was really spooky stuff. We worked with one of those special spooky IO outfits that didn't even have a unit patch." It's the kind of work for which a close relationship with an American network correspondent might come in handy. And it paid handsomely. Under an "indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract," the Pentagon promised the Lincoln Group up to $100,000,000 to assist the military's Joint Psychological Operations with controlling local media coverage of the American occupation. The Lincoln Group later became the target of congressional and Defense Department investigators over its handling of U.S. cash and its propaganda tactics.

It was true for a little bit. Eventually the knights were losing against the Ottoman Empire and they lost Jerusalem.
