I think we should just call him Griffin from now on. No trademarked nickname RG3. Or even acknowledge "the Third" in his name. He's just Griffin. Catchy nicknames should be for true performers, not athletes with waning ability and weighty advertising departments.

Bob Griffin.

I feel bad for RGIII.  That QB class is going to be remembered like this.

1. Andrew Luck - Hall of Famer in the mold of Elway and Manning.

2. Russel Wilson - The kid from nowhere that did amazing things through sheer hard work and attitude.  Had long and productive NFL career.

3. RGII -  Exciting #2 pick that had his career cut short by a bad case of acute Shanahan Knee.  The "wouldacoulda" of the group, which is sad.

Rent Party: That QB class is going to be remembered like this.

Don't forget Ryan Tannehill, who looks like he's going to be a solid if unspectactular starter for quite a few years. A poor man's Kerry Collins, if you will. (The better comparison, for those of you old enough to remember him, would be Neil Lomax).

Nick Foles, whose accuracy may have people down the road shaking their heads and asking "how did every team miss this guy, twice?"

And Brandon "Hey, look who the Browns managed to blow a first-round pick on!" Weeden.

Yeah, that, too.  Foles in particular looks like he might be Tom Brady with worse hair.

I think the main problem was not enough screen passes.

/I didn't do a head count, but are we sure we had enough o-linemen playing? I think we were missing a couple for about half the snaps.

You leave Neil Lomax the fark alone!!!

Of course he probably wouldn't have even been drafted if it weren't for the Run-n-Shoot offense they were running at PSU.

RGIII is fine.  I like Brooks talking trash, but he's not exactly right here.

The rest of that offense is awful.  They can't pass block and they can't catch. How is a QB supposed to do anything?

The few times RGIII got into the open, he looked very fast running the ball.  I don't think his knee is holding him back a ton.

I only caught a brief replay last night, but did Merriweather helmet tackle the 49ers QB last night? It looked like he tried to spear him through his chest.

/not even sure it was Merriweather, but if the shoe fits....

Futility like that requires a team effort, and there's plenty of blame to go around-the league's worst offensive line, the lack of a real No. 1 receiver, some truly bizarre play-calling, like a handoff to Roy Helu up the gut on fourth-and-two-but for better or worse, Washington has cast its lot with Griffin, and he's the poster boy for the Skins' troubles.

I'm not an offensive coordinator, but how is a run up the middle on fourth-and-two bizarre?

I agree. Not just their o-line, but their receiving core is terrible. No one but Garcon and Moss to throw it to. Especially with Jordan Reed being out.

/I like Reed a ton. He's got potential.

Yeah.  Garcon's very good but not great.  Moss is a fossil.  Given all this, Washington should have been running the ball more.  But they were doomed regardless.

*sigh* If you watch the kick at a larger size, you will see that Smith has been lifted off his feet by the lineman and pushed back by his chest. The leg swing is just physics taking over.

It probably doesn't help that their defense gives up over 30 points a game - second worst in the NFL. But that's not a sexy story.

Not that it isn't fun to mock their defense, but when the offense goes 3 and out on 6 of their first 7 drives you have to wonder if their defense gets run down from being on the field so much

They are pretty old if I remember correctly
