IlGreven: Considering a huge gash of Obamacare opposition

What a huge gash of Obamacare opposition might look like

Obama isn't very liberal.

Isitoveryet:
If a modern Conservative actually bothered to look up John Locke Liberalism, their heads would assplode.

but we live in the time of name calling, which doesn't necessarily require accurate meanings or usage.

I just think it's sad that the country has spun into essentially grown men-babies using words they don't understand to insult people they dislike in a very kindergarten sort of manner :(

Jim_Callahan: ... because it's a give-away to private insurance companies that socializes their losses while privatizing their profits in exchange for only the most minimal improvements that should have been industry standards anyhow?

No, wait, it's just some moron complaining about the program having rollout issues like literally every government program ever to roll out.  Carry on, nothing of value to see here.

It is a good idea they weren't at the rolling out of the Republic. If a website not working fully is classed as the sky is falling, what would they do with 25,000 dead?

Bareefer Obonghit: The cause of liberalism is a preexisting condition, though, so it's covered anyways.

If you experience liberalism lasting longer than four hours, seek immediate medical care.

From Heritage Dictionary:

Liberal:  Favoring reform, open to new ideas, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; not bound by traditional thinking; broad-minded.
Conservative: Favoring traditional views and values; tending to oppose change.

So by those definitions, the ACA has done precisely what a 'liberal' would do.  FAVOR REFORM!  Is it perfect?  Of course not.  Is it what the real progressives wanted (Single payer)?  Not hardly.  It was the best of a series of either unworkable, politically impossible, or impractical solutions, the worst and least practical of which was 'deregulate, and let the markets decide'.

Lando Lincoln: They are so very concerned for the liberal cause.

You know what's hurting conservatism? Conservatives.

This.

Eddie Adams from Torrance: I used to be the libbist lib who ever libbed a lib, but when I heard that it might take weeks to fix the healthcare.gov website, I joined the Tea Party.

I used to be a liberal like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

And those farktards use liberal as an insult. Seriously? In what universe is being tolerant an insult.
Open to new ideas an insult?

Point of order.  The preferred term is "Classical Liberals".

What, by proving that the "Free Market Solution" for the healthcare crisis was a failure and that a public option is the only way to go about resolving it? Oh darn.

Nobody is even going to remember this little hiccup once almost everyone has health coverage.  It has been, what, less than 2 months since the rollout started?  FFS, people, it's just a goddamn website.  Sure it was a stupid problem to have, but it has zero relevance to the viability of the law as a whole, which is already helping a ton of people -- especially in states that are running their own exchanges.

You know, the whole recent issue with the ACA vs. corporations' "religious freedom" may have a silver lining. Suddenly, corporations now have human "consciences". This is farking brilliant (to borrow a phrase from Bono.)

Let's do it this way: If corporations wish to have the right to deny healthcare benefits on the basis of "conscience", then lets make the CEO's of corporations criminally liable for anything the corporation does that an individual would go to jail for. After all, they're the corporation's "conscience," right?
It's only fair.

Verizon allows a phone that's been reported as stolen to be used on their service? Put their CEO in jail for "theft by conversion" or being an accessory to theft, or conspiracy to commit theft or some such. They can't possibly claim to not know the phone's stolen.
