I used to be a prison guard once upon a time (granted, this is a jail in TFA).  If true (which it seems to be, since someone was disciplined), fark whoever this officer is.  You basically have all the time in the world to get whatever that person was hiding.  The only reason to do something like this seems to be strictly for the joy of hurting other people.  There's no way this person should be allowed to come back to work.  Ideally, they should visit the inside.

Or maybe that's why I don't work there anymore.  I dunno.

Okay, so here is a tip that will keep you from ruining an otherwise great night with your date:

When you go out with your girlfriend to a Mexican restaurant and have hot salsa with your chips, make sure you wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. Otherwise, once you start playing with her lady parts later that night, the salsa remnants will burn the crap out of her labia and vagina, and you will be left feeling like a total a-hole.

And you live in Detroit?  How have you not heard of it?  It is how the hookers make sure the johns pay.

Maybe the mace improved the smell.  Or the officer thought the mace would get the woman to relax the muscles.

In this context, the word routine refers to the execution of the search, not how often the searches are performed.

However, I certainly hope most of their strip searches don't end in crotch macing.

How is it being a "liberal bleeding heart" to be appalled at the idea of a woman being sprayed with Mace in her nether regions? Parole status does NOT preclude the right to not be tortured with harsh chemicals by "law" enforcement.

You're almost certainly a troll, but I'll bite because it's a slow work day. If we've learned anything from New Mexico, it's that even decent people can and are treated with a lack of humanity all the time.

Unless you feel that a routine traffic stop is grounds for 3 enemas, followed by being forced to defecate in front of witnesses, followed by a colonoscopy (classified as surgery) because some cop thought you might have drugs in your ass.

While you're right about a parolee trading their rights away for the open air, your language seems deliberately inflammatory. I assume you don't mean to say the police may mace a parolee's crotch as part of a regular induction procedure, or do you regularly dehumanize others to make yourself feel better?

I honestly did not believe this needed clarifying,

I was referring to the fact that someone was calling strip searching a convicted felon who signed away her right to privacy and searches in exchange for release from prison a "violation of her constitutional rights" , not the fact that some corrections flunky failed jail school 101 and panics at the sight of drugs in the crotch pocket.

Everyone who participated in this should be in prison, and all of those so-called medical professionals who were involved should permanently lose their licenses to practice.
