My first thought was 'man, this video must be old' cus I couldn't imagine why a modern television personality would still be engaging WoW as a news worthy item. Shows what I know.

a 90's icon playing a game that was popular in 2005.  How timely.

When he finished he put the keyboard down and declared WoW officially dead and remarked it had really gone down hill since he played.

This may be the best jab at ex-WoW players ever.

/Almost a year clean, myself.

The Horror Game edition of "Clueless Gamer" was better, IMHO.

Back in my day we clubbed seals in Warcraft 2, then got high and watched the visualizations on winamp.

Wait - now we're done. WoW jumped the shark after WoLK, and never came down. There are much better games out there now, as well as a whole raft of them coming in 2014.

Yeah, always found the "the game is dead" people a little weird.

MMOs don't ever actually die, they just eventually stop updating or go to alternate monetization (e.g. Free-to-Play) as they lose members.  And WoW's been declining for a while now (Panda's didn't do much to stave it off) but they've got plenty of subscriber loss to go before they even stop finding releasing expansions profitable.

// I mean, EQ1 is still up and running, for chrissake.

People love being dramatic and reinforcing singular opinion whenever possible, which is why you see 'x game is dead' commentary when it really isn't suitable.

Very few MMO's have actually closed the doors and shut the lights off.   Asheron's Call 2 (which is actually online again), and CoH are the only couple that I can think off off the top of my head.

Having said that, I still don't see much in the landscape that seems really worth playing, and the fact that WoW is still the most widely played of them all is a bit lame, considering how absolutely milquetoast the game has become.   The genre is inundated with players who seem to actually dislike the core aspects of the genre, and developers are simply chasing the money, however temporary it might be.

/Maybe Wildstar will be good.   Maybe EQ:N will be good.   I simply don't allow myself to get my hopes up for such things any longer.

Ya. Because giant cows the size of Fiats are TOTALLY realistic. It's the farking pandas that are over the top.

Never mind steampunk gnomes. Or werewolves. Let's never mention space goats. Or THREE flavors of elf.

It's the farking pandas.

Apparently Conan finds the whole 'Leeroy Jenkins' video highly amusing, so no shock he'd show up at a Warcraft thing eventually.

What's the other elf? I've been gone a while, but I'm only seeing Night Elves and Blood Elves.

You're not counting Trolls, are you?
