So are we yet at the point where we can assume every "server gets screwed by racists/homophobes/general dickbags" story is just another attempt to make money by garnering internet sympathy?

I love how they throw Wounded Warriors in there to soften the blow.

Sure, I lied, but it was for the troops!

Pretty-much.  Bigots don't generally advertise, and those that do are usually too illiterate to leave a note.

Its friggin sad as shiat

There are real people who have to put up with real bullshiat.

You are farking over those who are victims of bigotry.

Your selfishness gives them ammunition to attack your side.

Busted. And yes, sad. I suspect the Internet will not be kind to this person.

Any more, I just automatically assume such allegations are bogus.  Looks like I was correct in that, again, unfortunately.

You might want to check the video of the newscast again, as they showed both the customers' receipt and their credit card statement.  This waitress is so busted.

Well she's not helping.

I don't get how the merchant copy (the one signed by the customer that the restaurant keeps) shows no tip, but the couple's receipt has the tip amount written in. The restaurant copy is the one that should indicate a tip added in. But then, to add to my confusion, the couple's credit card statement shows the amount including the tip. How does that work?

I wondered about that too. could they have just told her the amount to take for a tip? I haven't worked in a restaurant since 1992.

It's possible the server printed out a second copy, then filled in whatever she wanted.  But she was dumb enough to add in the tip when she actually ran their card.

Some put write in the tip on their copy, so they have the actual amount when they reconcile their bank statements.

This happens on both sides of the aisle, so don't crow about it, conservatives. We have our own dipshiats who try to pull this kind of bullshiat.

That said, maybe the girl was just mistaken about which table it was.

A lot of flags would definitely be thrown if not for that credit card statement..  That is just the nail into the coffin

I'm surprised she even got a tip in the first place. She sounds like a total biatch.

You could tell because she carved the 0 from the $0 tip into her cheek backwards.

Left a $18 tip! Well, then it's okay the're a dickbags otherwise.

Allrighty then.

Just stop.

Stop defining yourself by your sexuality. Be whatever you want... but be MORE for fark's sake.

She claimed no tip was left for her and obviously it was because she's a lesbian. Wow, just wow.

Generally, when people don't tip, its because your service sucked, you're an asshole or you are lazy. Or the tippers are just stingy bastards. I'm sure some people out there don't tip because you are a female/black/lesbian/wearing a cross/old/insert bigoted reason here, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

It could happen. There are racist/homophobic/sexist people out there who would write that kind of thing. Hell, there are people who leave $50 "witnessing tracts" fake bills. That someone might have left such a note on their bill is not outside the realm of possibility.

I see so much bullshiat from people on the internet that I refuse to believe any of it.  Unless it's a woman telling me how great I am and that I am the most wonderful lover in the world.

But then, that would be my wife because I'm loyal and she wouldn't put something like that on the internet. ;)

The real arseholes in the midwest leave those church advertisements that look like dollar bills.

I believe my point flew over your head..

What I am saying to you is...

The waitress couldn't have mistaken them for another customer.... because, there was only one customer with that exact total at tha exact minute, and therefore... THERE WAS NO OTHER CUSTOMER. The waitress made the whole thing up. You can't give her the benefit of the doubt and say "oh, must have been another table." Understand?

I'm not saying it didn't happen as the couple explains. I'm just saying that this kind of thing isn't something we conservatives should be jumping up and down and pointing fingers at the waitress because while today it's this woman but tomorrow it'll be some dumbshiat on our side pulling shiat like this and schadenfreude will flow the opposite direction.

It's not even something we need to make a huge clamor about. Let the howler monkeys make hay out of this, and let's try to keep our own heads on straight in the meantime.
