Yes, yes we get it. In order to prevent active intellectuals from going Full Kaczynski, you can distract them with shiny pointless puzzles.

I don't think primes work that way.

Given the number of geeks working 24/7 on this, you might not be wrong.

Turns out, it was a 14-year old kid in Norway trying to get us to do his homework for him.

Also, public schools in Norway are kind of hard.

I'd laugh if it turns out it's an automated system to generate an infinite number of "puzzles", each varying just enough to convince people it has an end. Every time someone gets the next step, it already has a dozen more ahead of it.

But then they may die with hope. We need to crush that out of them just before that. Maybe reveal the machine's inner workings just as they begin their last breath.

It's already been solved. The problem is how to turn a planet to convert into enough energy to drive a wormhole to the edge of the universe. They think there is a starship out there.

But no one knows who the Puppetmaster is, so it's mysteeeerious

So I'm curious about the thing with the new prime number.   Did someone independantly determine a new prime and hold onto it to create this cryptogame?  That's pretty intense.

I don't remember Solace actively trolling for people who think they're way smarter than The Rest Of You.

The cool part is that you really don't have to be transcendently intelligent or competent to do that kind of trolling. People want so badly to believe in their own superiority that they'll ascribe all sorts of superhuman characteristics to someone who seems to be always one jump ahead.
