Eh, she had to be a slut. I mean, look at that smile.

She has crazy eyes.  I bet this is only tangentially related to the abortion.  Her claim that she's a Catholic and their claim that she's a hypocrite may be at issue (i.e. can you trust anything she says).

Mr. Mehos also looks like a roided up ass.

"Earlier this year, Mr Mehos was arrested for battering his wife, charges that were later dropped due to insufficient evidence after he claimed her black eye was from a Botox injection, not physical violence - a claim Mrs Mehos called 'ridiculous'."

So, considering the Daily Fail, and what I know about family lawyers Texas, and judging a book by its cover (their pictures in the article), I'd bet this was a case of Bad Parent v. Worse Parent and the Court is still trying to figure out who is least sleazy.

Off to find another source for this article.

Good. If she's willing to murder one of her children, the others are at risk too.

How the hell did they get her medical records?  And it's probably illegal to go after her medical records just as much as it is to disclose them.

basemetal: How the hell did they get her medical records?  And it's probably illegal to go after her medical records just as much as it is to disclose them.

Divorce is an open proceeding.  (I think it should be closed)
Medical records are relevant if custody is at issue AND if physical or mental health is at issue.  If you are blind, then that condition is relevant.  If you are on methadone, that is relevant.  Just getting medical records to find something is usually not allowed.  And getting medical records, due to HIPAA usually requires either a hearing on mental health records and a court order, or a signed release for the records.  Of course a judge can just order you sign the release.  That is pretty standard for certain types of records.

I am pretty surprised that in custody the Court cares about abortion, other than the tangential effects (why didn't she give dad the time she was incapacitated instead of her parents).  The lawyer also seems to think her mental health (stress) may be at issue too.  I'd doubt this alone would win that argument.

But the little I know about NY family law is that some strange decisions are made due to the law and some due to the Judges just doing strange things.

FTFA: After subpoenaing Mrs Mehos' medical records to show that she indeed had an abortion, Ms Alter used the procedure to suggest she was a hypocrite for asking to have custody of her two children over Easter.

How is that not a HIPAA violation?  Divorce nullifies it?

Something is missing from this article. While it is certainly possible that things happened exactly as described, I find it mind-boggling that a Court deciding custody matters would in any way allow a blind fishing expedition into medical records and/or actually decide that the Father hiring prostitutes is irrelevant to custody matters, while the Mom undergoing an abortion is somehow relevant.

I feel like I've been beaten up and raped.

Based on this reaction and her going to the Daily Mail for sympathy, she should lose custody of her children.

Door knob.  The black eye is always blamed on the door knob.

I see the following things after reading the article:

1.  The abortion became relavant because she lied about dating, and she lied about her religion (which should have prevented her getting the abortion).  It's not about the abortion.  It's the other facts in the case surrounding it.
2.  Her ex-husband is LOADED.  Of course the courts are going to side with the guy with boatloads of money to throw around.

If she were still in the midst of getting a divorce, it would likely swing the other way, and she would be taking his money.  But that's all in the past now.

These Daily Fail articles are always heavy on the outrage and light on, you know, actual information. This story is a bit more coherent, but still leaves me wondering wtf the judge is smoking.

\Mr. Mehos's attorney's pole is my only guess.

2013-11-25 04:58:59 PM
Wow. I can't see how this could even begin to be legal. I'm hoping it gets thrown out on appeal, and the judge gets censured.

I love this comment "Hey, the person I slept with I have known for 20 years."  She does not have to excuse herself but that one is just batshiat.

Golddiggers always think they are going get away from Mr. Moneybags clean.

Unless their children are just a not yet fully-formed mass of cells, as in the case of abortion, I don't think it's germaine to the case.

She never lied about dating, she said she didn't have men over to her home.  When she went out she left the kids with her mother.  As to her being "too Catholic" to get an abortion, I bet the dirty heathen wears mixed fabrics and eats shellfish and yada yada yada.  Lots of people identify as this religion or that one and wipe their asses with the book on the subject on a daily basis.

2.  Her ex-husband is LOADED.  Of course the courts are going to side with the guy with boatloads of money to throw around.

The courts don't (or at least shouldn't) give a damn about how much money he has, but it was apparently enough to get an especially scum-sucking lawyer and maybe payoff the judge.

If she were still in the midst of getting a divorce, it would likely swing the other way, and she would be taking his money.  But that's all in the past now.

I think this is a repeat. I remember seeing this before. It wasn't the abortion per se that got mommy in trouble, it's that after insisting she was a great mom and spent 110% of her time with the kids, she was leaving them with her mother while she was out whoring around. The abortion was merely proof of that.

Dad's an abusive roid head, so the kids are screwed either way.

It's a street in New York.  Houston St. has its own judicial system, doesn't it?  That's the only way I can reconcile the article and subby's headline.  Unless subby or the Daily Mail made a mistake, which would never happen.
