Too bad for whoever did it.  Maryland may not have the death penalty, but I'm pretty sure killing a mailman is a federal offense.

What the article doesn't mention: He was delivering mail in the pitch dark at 7:20pm. Way too late to be delivering mail in PG County. Don't go there after dark, or at any time come to think of it.

Is this part of their workforce reduction plan? Bonus not having to pay severance or other termination/retirement costs.

There goes my greenlight.

If only there was a way I could write some helpful words on a piece of paper, conveniently place that paper into a cleverly constructed paper sheath, apply another brightly colored, self-sticking piece of paper, walk outside, place said papers into a shelter device with an alarm to show it is full of papers, wait a few hours till some grey-suited professional removes said papers and sends them off to Drew Curtis and friends who will roll them into a great big spliff and smoke them without reading their contents. If only there was a way...

As opposed to killing anyone else?

This.  Landover isn't the most ghetto area of PG county, but it's certainly not the least.

I thought the post office stopped sunday delivery.

Nevermind I see an article that says that Amazon teamed up with the post office to deliver on Sundays.  Well some areas should be exempt... such as PG County.

Ok ok, I'm not TF, I didn't read yours.  Also not subby.  Let's hear it, but know that "whistling lead" is going to be hard to beat.

/my submission to GL ratio is about 50:1

He was delivering the mail on a Saturday night. Better article says sometimes they deliver mail at 10pm or midnight. Not sure if they thought this thru. As evidenced in recent news stories, if you see a black guy approaching your house at midnight you might open fire.

I don't know what happened to my earlier reply...I was saying that my ratio is about the same. The only way I ever get a greenlight is by submitting 7 or 8 of them early Monday morning. Any other time on Monday or any other day of the week, almost never. Hope that helps with your ratio, too.

Outside of neo-cons with a hate-boner for the mail, who hates the post office? I mean, they can deliver a letter from Maine to Washington State in a few days for less than 50 Cents.

And you get the 10 pounds of spam that subsidized that letter for free! You would have to be crazy to turn down free garbage delivered directly to your door. It saves you the ton of effort it would take to generate that waste yourself. What a system!
