Dinki: That looks pretty good. I hope they provide some much needed psychological help to the residents. While the physical comforts are certainly a step up and will help, it's the mental help that will finally get many of the homeless back into society.
Cpl.D: So it's a religious indoctrination project, then?
edmo: It's all gonna come down to motives....
Barry Lyndon's Annuity Cheque: Homeless people catch all the breaks.
Gifted Many Few: If they really want to help the homeless, they have to do it the Darwin way. Every time you give a handout, they expect more and more and give virtually nothing in return. The socialist system is just fine with sharing money, clothing, food, healthcare and housing, but ask to share some of the work, and they won't do that.
StopLurkListen: Gated.Uh huh.The gates are to keep them in, right?
Mitrovarr: Seems like the kind of district where a homeless person could really find some sanctuary!
Godscrack: Texas authorities: War on brown/black and poor people. Round them up and put them in ghettos. THIS IS HOW IT ALL STARTS.Actually this is close to fairly liberal Austin, so hopefully this will work out ok for these people. I have good faith it will. But they will need security and some kind of law enforcement, THEN YOU WILL START SEEING GUARD TOWERS AND SEARCH LIGHTS AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE PROPERTY. AND WAIT, THOSE ARE WAY TOO BIG FOR PIZZA OVENS.
tanman1975: austin is not TEXAS
Notabunny: Isn't that called "jail"?
Spirit Hammer: Is this anything like the "Projects" in Chicago?
kling_klang_bed: The last one left, Lathrope, is a good example of how those projects should've been run.
