So, perhaps don't go and have a bunch of random parnis stuffed in yer butt and perhaps don't go stuffin' yer parnis in random man butt neither.  Perhaps then, you can still be in the show.  Just sayin'.
On a different note, he was one of the greatest vocalists EVAR.

So you're advocating stuffing your dick in every bit of crazy that comes along until you get every version of dick rot that exists as well as a herd of broads claiming you owe them child support?

They never came close enough to Albuquerque for me to see them. Think Hot Space tour closest they came was Denver. Sad- Freddie is my favorite rock front man. Would love to have seen him!

he was likely infected in the 1970's before AIDS was a 'thing'.   So, your hoighty toighty attitude has the benefit of hindsite, and thusly not very impressive.

Sadly, I'm not old enough to have been able to see Queen in concert. The YouTube live performances of Freddie give me chills - I can't begin to imagine what it would have been like to be there in person. This past year I did get to see Queen Extravaganza and was mesmerized, I had never heard Love of My Life before and it brought me to tears it was so beautiful.

He died in 1991. HIV will usually develop into AIDS and kill in less than 2-5 years if untreated. He got it after AIDS was public knowledge, although he may have gotten it at a time when it was still being denied pretty heavily in those circles..

//still a tragedy, but he died from unsafe sex if we're honest.

The song was written by Freddie Mercury about Mary Austin, with whom he had a long term relationship in the early 1970s.

it seems to me that Mercury never truly recovered from this relationship and all his wild sexual behavior was a way for him to avoid falling in love and risk having another broken heart.  of course "somebody to love" sounds like a cry out for what he was truly looking for in life.

My six year old son loves Freddie. He named our canary Freddie and just absolutely broke down when the bird died because 'all the good Freddies die!'

I'm a huge fan, but not old enough to have seen them play. Still get really sad about that; I wish I could have had the opportunity. I hate that the attitudes around HIV/AIDS delayed life saving treatment for millions, Freddie included. If he'd lasted just a couple more years, he'd probably still be alive. It's rather incredible that what was once a definite death sentence is now, more or less, a chronic illness in the West. Freddie bringing attention to the disease - even if it was only the day before he died - and the work of the Mercury Phoenix Trust in his memory has made a difference for millions.

There will never be another Freddie.

*blinks*

You mean, as opposed to Rock Hudson and Magic Johnson?

The problem with his announcement was that the span of time between when he announced it and when he died was brief.  If anything he gave the confirmation that it was a death sentence.

It's been said here in farkistan before in one way or another, so I guess it's my turn.

Freddie didn't die. It's just that the human body can only contain so much awesome before transmigrating to a higher realm.

There will be, but it probably will be a long, long time.

And in the meantime the record companies will try to market the shiat out of people trying to achieve what no marketing dept. will EVER be able to accomplish.

It will happen when it happens.

Well that right there is not true. "Rapid progressors" are a very small subgroup of the HIV infected, and yes their HIV develops into AIDS within 4 years. The average rate of conversion from HIV to AIDS hovers between 7-10 years depending on age, health, etc.
