"I feel sad for this person. That's what it tells me. This individual I hope gets some kind of help or assistance. There is something missing in their life," said Rep. Fale.

Maybe I'm misreading the tone, and that'd be easy to do - but that sounds like a guy who was suddenly shocked to be reminded that the shiat he pulls actually has meaningful impact on people's lives.

I think he is talking about lickins.  But apparently lickins is something us mainlanders don't understand.  He just wants to catch the guy who do it, pull down his pants, and lay some old fashioned lickins across the back side.  Nothing will get a person into shape like island style lickins.

Lickins...

The hospital's response was particularly disappointing. It's not like the person mailed anthrax to the lawmakers. What's wrong with coal?

While I agree with this action in principle, and understand the timeliness of the issue, I just can't get beyond the wrongness of a Christmas gift arriving before Thanksgiving even comes. This doubly so with our new Corporatist Government rewiring Thanksgiving to become the Shop For Christmas Holiday, and Christmas to be a holiday whose true meaning is giving and receiving items bought on sale at Thanksgiving.

"Hilo Medical Center categorically denies any involvement in this matter and does not condone this type of behavior," said Howard Ainsley, East Hawaii Regional CEO of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation. "Over the years, we have enjoyed a positive relationship with members of the legislature. It is extremely unfortunate that our good hospital was brought into a such bad act. We want to assure our legislators that we will fully cooperate with the investigative process to bring the perpetrators of these acts to justice."

"We got lickins when we weren't doing what we were supposed to be doing. I guess kids on the mainland that's actually a better thing. I would rather get a piece of coal in my stockings then lickins," said Rep. Richard Fale, (R) representing Oahu's North Shore, and voted against same sex marriage.

Why is it that the bootstrappiest ones also come across as the gayest?

Seems childish.  I get you're upset that these legislators didn't vote the way you wanted them.  These people are elected to represent their constituents and they voted in a manner that might actually reflect that.  Despite whether or not you like how they voted, these elected officials don't represent a majority of folks (probably including most Farkers), so why should they vote in a manner that is consistent with a Representative, let's say, in New York City?

Amen. Those pissy gay activists need to stop getting their frilly pink panties all in a wad over legislators voting against their rights as Americans. How dare they?

Right?  I don't know... maybe the right to marry the person they love is missing from their life, ever think of that, Rep, Fale? (which, if pronounced as I think, "fail", is the most appropriate name ever.)
