Or Minnesotan. They also pronounce "bag" the way everyone else in the world's pronounces the first part of "bagel," and vice versa, which makes me think that, as a state, they're just trolling us.

My wife is Canadian. She say 'tack-o' for taco, 'sore-y' for sorry, 'bag-el' for bagel, 'natch-o' for nacho and other abominations. And she's from (the English part of) Montreal, not the Midwestern parts.

I seriously don't get the love of Pepsi though. I'm from NC, where it was invented, and even I know it's disgusting.

There seems to be a growing movement in this country to know where food comes from. I can respect that, since most people don't have a clue what they are shoving into their fat gullet. However, going to this granular of a level is just asinine. If they took farms from the poor to do something to make money, good for them.

Now about the pop reference. What it is called is immaterial. Carbonated beverages are one of the worst things to ingest. There is virtually no nutritional value. But the socially conscience, like me, are already aware of that and have probably sworn off the stuff.

Regardless of the trolly headline, this is serious business. Mega corporations are getting downright violent in their need to grow and keep their shareholders happy. There is no accountability among a solitary one of them and they, frankly, need to be broken up Bell Telephone style.

But I have it on good FARK authority that soda and fruit juice are equivalent because sugar, therefore there are no benefits to drinking juice over soda.

Well, it's subtle in that some people take umbrage over "pop" vs. "soda", which is understandable since there are various dialectic differences across the world.  And there are some people who will take offense at Pepsi being the best, which is understandable since there are a lot of uncultured, dead-palated heathens who are under the mistaken impression that Coke is anything but toxic waste.

So people get upset at the one but completely miss the other.

I think that's the only reason anyone really likes Pepsi, Coke, etc. We all know how a flat can of Coke tastes, it's like drinking vomit. People really just drink it for the carbonation. If everyone would just switch to Club Soda the world would be a lot healthier. I've gotten used to drinking plain water myself though, with every meal.

It's not theft of property. It's making a better investment than the current owners, who get paid. If a farmer has 100 acres but is not making money on it to even pay for vehicle maintenance, he is not helping himself by keeping it. Too a larger farm this could be considered valuable and will pay the farmer for the land and his time to work that land that he no longer owns. In return the larger company now had the resources to produce.

No, I drink it for the sugar.  I let it go flat because carbonation upsets my stomach.  Any time I try drinking diet soda, I get woozy because my taste buds say "Sugar!" and my body's all "Here comes the sugar!" but the drink is all "Nope." and then I crash.

Which is why fark the Taco Bell by where I work because they gave me diet Pepsi not once but TWICE.

When "theft of property" is defined as "legally purchasing property and improving its condition until it's worth more that what the previous owner sold it for," then I certainly do support "theft of property."

/funny how NPR is all bent out of shape over this happening in countries with rule of law
