Don't the sweepstakes laws require that they offer an equivalent cash prize?

If the perpetrator is smart, he'll turn himself in, return the goods, spend a bit a jail time and earn the reward.

This is a reward, not a contest

Permanently Scarred Tattoos

That's not a business name that would fill me with confidence.

The life of the shop, you mean.

For life? How many does one need?

Most of the people I know with tats and piercings spend all their time thinking about the next one they plan to get, as soon as they can scrape together the money. After a while their bodies look like one of those beat up old cars plastered with a zillion bumper stickers. I don't get it.

Then there are those who get one or two tats that have special significance and leave it at that. Not my bag but I can understand that.

At 0 each, I have all the tatoos and piercings I could ever want.

Permanently Scarred? What is this, a joke? That's like naming your breakfast cafe Typhoid Mary's. Besides, when I did that for a tattoo shop once, all I got was a break on their rates until I lost interest in getting tattooed. If this place wasn't boldly advertising that it was a shiathole full of scratchers, I'd feel cheated.

I have a full body tattoo of myself that covers all my skin. Artist did a great job.

If this reward was transferrable, it would make for a very interesting eBay listing. Difficult to determine a precise value for this sort of thing.

I'd be wiling to bet the guilty party has lots of tattoos and piercings, likely acquired in this place.   Reap what you sow and so forth...

They use a fan motor, a used needle and bic ink, because it's badarse.

Yay, tattoo thread.

Anyone who gets a tattoo is an idiot.
Tattoo's express my identity.
White trash.
I am an individual.
Conform to societies standards.
Don't judge me.

Did I miss any?

Also, having now read more than the first line of the article, I see they wanted an arrest. Tattooing is not the industry it used to be, is it?

No, you nailed it. i applaud you for your effort, good job.

Also, not everyone is an AW about their tats. Most people in my daily life do not know that I have any. Unless specifically asked or I happen to be shirtless and/or barefoot, it is unlikely that I would ever mention them to you. I neither regret nor am particularly proud of them.

Sleep with? Sure. Bring over to mom's place for dinner? Hell no.

My partner has one fairly large tat, it's very well done and has personal significance to her. It's also easily concealed. Doesn't bother me. She doesn't seem to want any more of them.

I think what bugs me is when peoe just want tats for the sake o getting tats. It's like hoarding without the physical posessions.

No. No thank you.

Most of the people I know reasonably well, who also have tattoos, including myself, are well spoken, educated, and have what they want in life, or are on the way towards getting what they want.

OTOH, I work in customer service, and I see a lot of people who have some of the worst tattoos and locations for tattoos I have ever thought I'd see.

I got pierced once, and it took the doctor two hours to sew it back up again.

How much do you REALLY think tatttoo ink and a needle is worth? A whole body tat, aka "lifetime tattoos", would run less than $100 without the artist.

I think we should definitely privatize police work on a per victim basis.  Because the police sure as hell can't be arsed to do any.

You know what's funny? You just mentioned your tattoos. Nobody specifically asked. Do you see where I'm going with this?

I used the word 'unlikely'. Meaning that I might bring them up now and then. I was speaking in terms of everyday personal interactions. I talk about them in tat related threads on occasion, sure.

Being from the town where all this took place (thankfully I don't live there anymore) and knowing how things work there *coughheroincough*, it was probably his brother.
