I'm not just saying this because a life long Vols fan, but Alabama's schedule has been easier this year. Texas A&M, LSU, and Auburn. You guys really played 3 games this year.

I'm not going to defend Alabama's schedule this year...much. They have no control over who they play from the East as it's on a rotation (except for Tennessee). Also, Virginia Tech should have been a better contest, except they are having a bad season.

I can understand their playing Colorado State because Jim McElwain was Bama's OC for four years. There's just no excuse for Georgia State UT Chattanooga.

All in all it's a very weak schedule. I really wish Alabama, and other big programs, played better competition.

The only way you get that to work is by breaking up the conferences and mandating teams only play against opponents so many spots below them in the polls (pre-season). So, if you are in the top 10, you cannot play any non-Top 25 teams; 11-20, only 2 non-Top 25, and so on.  Because the current system makes your schedule dependent upon what 11-15 teams you have no control over are doing this year - and what those teams are is based upon decisions sometimes made decades ago..  And, you would need to convince the ADHD fangirls that are sports writers that a 8-3 teams who played all Top 15 teams is more deserving of a NC game than the 11-0 team that played each of the Texas Schools for Blind Quadriplegics.  Spending metric farktons of money could get you the first two.  I don't think even God His Own Damn Self could pull off a miracle big enough to get you the last one, though

I know it would be difficult to get teams to play better competition. Perhaps if conferences could agree to schools playing each other on a yearly basis so that each SEC school plays one PAC-12 in a home and home two years then play different conferences after that. Also, like you said, reward strength of schedule.

Maybe once we get a real playoff the conference champions could get automatic bids with a few at large bids. That way being undefeated won't mean as much as playing a stronger schedule.

those are the special uniforms they brought out for the Georgia game this year. Since our seniors have gone through so much with all the coaching changes, Butch Jones left it up to them which jerseys they wanted to end their careers on and they went with the grey. I don't mind it occasionally, but prefer the orange and white myself

I like a relegation system.  The top 20 are one conference.  You play the 9 in your division and 2 or 3 patsy's/rivals if you want and the championship is the confence champion.  Bottom 4 or even more if you want to get crazy play bowl/relegation games against top teams from conference B to set the conferences for the next year.  Have 5 or 6 conferences tiered that way.

wtf is Bielema doing? It's one thing to go winless in the sec in your first year, it's something else to punt from the 30 yard line when you have a kicker that has hit 2 50 yarders. Terrible decision even if it save you 30 yards field position. It's not like Arkansas is a defensive juggernaut that has to play the field position game
