And that was after Democrats filibustered only 10 Bush nominees. I'm pretty sure Republicans have filibustered over 80 of Obama's nominees. This rule change should have happened years ago.

What is it with republicans and their fascination with rape?

When you stake arguments on rape not being all that bad, and you say that something is worse than rape, how bad is it really?

Nah. Empowerment. Like prison rape.

Actually it's more like stopping 48 men from raping 350 million men, women, and children.

Well when the GOP does it it's not legitimate rape... Likely because the men in the analogy were thinking of each other during it.

No one said he was criticizing the "Constitutional option" by comparing it to rape....

now if rush was to compare the subject to men-raping-boys i might think he was more knowledgeable

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh on Friday used a rape analogy to decry Democrats' historic move to change filibuster rules in the Senate.

*rolls eyes*

Of course he did.

This is what desperation looks like, folks. It aint pretty.

I actually heard this segment today. It was really as absurd as you'd think it would be. The entire analogy was retarded. According to Rush, if you change to a simply minority vote, then the one crazy will get legislation passed. So apparently, if there are 6 Republicans, and 1 on them votes to allow rape, then the other 5 will go along with it. What rugged individualists.

2013-11-22 08:48:05 PM
"Every now and then, I propose to change the rule to allow Dominican boys to be raped," he added. "But we never were able to get six votes for it. There were always the four Dominicans voting against it and they always found two guys."

My biggest problem is that he thinks 52/48 is equivalent to 5/10.

Also, the majority changing the rules is how democracy works.

So Comcast, who owns MSNBC, is paying to keep Rush on the air? (does he criticize MSNBC on air?)
WTF is the US Mail paying him for?  (does he point out that USPS is running billions of dollars in deficits? [because of the GOP, I know])

5 out of 10 isn't a majority, though.

Ignoring the stupid analogy, his bad math bothers me.

Yep. It's now the fillabuttster rule.

That clown has been off the rails for some time now. His army of muttonheads has not increased in years and...who gives a fig what he says besides gullible dolts who are terrified of liberal bogeymen under their bed.

His audience can't do math anyway. They're all too busy "keeping it in the family" to learn how to do that fancy liberal magic.

Is it possible for this guy to talk without spewing misogynistic shiat? Seriously, Rush, rape is the first analogy that came to mind? It's like that old joke about 4 out of 5 people approving of gang rape, only supposedly he wants to be taken seriously. I think? Subby's right: Who farking knows at this point?

wtf are they always bringing up rape?

Lord_Baull: What is it with republicans and their fascination with rape?

It always does seem to be the first term they use in describing anything the Democrats do these days.  I'd hazard a guess they're trying to elicit a charged emotional response from women, but given that every other sentence out of their mouths has to do with doctors shoving probes up their vaginas I'd say it's not really working.

2013-11-22 08:57:57 PM
Hmmm. That's not what he thought a few years ago when it was Bush's appointments that were getting blocked......

Rish Limbaugh: "This filibuster, as you know, they're filibustering these nominations which requires essentially 60 votes for a judge to be confirmed. The Constitution says nothing about this. The Constitution says simple majority, 51 votes. ...when it affects a presidential power, which takes us into a separation of powers issue, like the appointment of judges, that is unconstitutional, in my layman's view. It's up to the Senate Republicans to stop them."

I wonder what changed his mind?

That's the oxy withdrawal talking.

I still listen to AM radio for a few minutes most weeks. The unhinged fear-based detachment from reality used to be entertaining and good for a little chuckle. But now it's just kinda sad.

I heard his first show broadcast in Fayetteville, NC during the reign of St. Reagan. I'm not sure he wasn't still located in the Sacramento area then. He was mildly amusing up until he started believing his own bullshiat during Bush The Greaters term.

You don't expect Rush to remember what he said back then, do you?  He was probably in a drug induced haze at the time.  I know, it's on his web site so he doesn't have to remember, he can just read it.  But I'm not sure he knows how to read.

GOP, can you keep your damn rape fetish in the bedroom?
