oldernell: So now you will be able to buy 4 lb bags for the same price you were paying for 5 lb bags.

sheep snorter: Coming up on the news in 5 months: "Why is this 20 pound bag of potatoes only 15 pounds?"/Well da guvment got rid of 'exact' weights, so f*ck you , thats why.
wingedkat: It would be interesting to look at the reasoning behind the law when it was passed.
Angry Drunk Bureaucrat: Before you could only buy a six pack of potatoes at the farm stand (or any place that sold french fries) or a case of 48 at the potato distributors, and even then only Monday-Saturday.
Kid Lester: oldernell: So now you will be able to buy 4 lb bags for the same price you were paying for 5 lb bags.Yep. Sure as shiat. And I'll be in the market looking at 6 different brands doing the math per pound instead of just buying the cheapest one. Of course, until they all switch to 4 pounds. And then I have to buy 2 bags of potatoes to make one legit pot of mashed for a big meal.I ain't saying the government should mandate this, but there's SOME things it'd be nice if they didn't fark with, like they did with ice cream going from a half gal to 48 oz, or OJ going from a half gal to 59 oz..I guess the 3.5 quart jug of milk is next.
