Most Transparent Administration in History*

* - Does not necessarily indicate any actual transparency.

All of the BS from the past (name them) administrations, all the while our supposed 4th estate is in bed with them.  Now they are all pissy over not getting to take photos.  Petulant children try real reporting for a change.

In my day, reporters weren't given photos.  They had to bring their own cameras! And no one wanted to hold still. If you meant business, you had to use venom to paralyze them in a rictus long enough to set off the magnesium flash! These modern reporters don't know how good they got it.

So lemme get this straight:

Mitch McConnell limits questions?  No problem.

WH limits photos?  THIS IS AN OUTRAGE~!

The DC Press Corps being a group of hypocrites?  Does a bear shiat in the woods?

I think the point is they're trying to do their reporting but the administration is going out of its way to make it more difficult.

They're pretty equal opportunity on this. Remember the hissy fit over not being able to photograph bodies coming back from Iraq?

You mean the same hissy hit when Bush's Administration said "Don't question us?"  That hissy...oh wait THAT'S RIGHT!  The WH Press Corps gladly bent over for the Bush Adm. until McClellan's book came out!  Then they had to feign outrage because they didn't want anyone to know they were complicit in it.

Farking bunch of hypocrites.  No wonder Jon Stewart wipes his ass with their lot every night on "The Daily Show".

Most transparent administration in history*

What (Americans) don't expect is for one Party, be it Republican or Democrat, to change the rules in the middle of the game, so that they can make all the decision while the other Party is told to sit down and keep quiet*

et cetera...

"This is really what the White House is all about. It's the "People's House." It's a place that is steeped in history, but it's also a place where everyone should feel welcome. And that's why my husband and I have made it our mission to open up the house to as many people as we can." - Michelle Obama

People who write negative things about Obama?  Well, they are bloggers and bloggers aren't real journalists.  Journalists who work for Fox News?  Well, that's a propaganda arm of the Koch Brothers and isn't a real source.  Photographers who complain the Administration is consciously avoiding them and substituting their own photos which is basically the equivalent of asking news outlets to publish non-edited press releases?  Well, they are just photographers and not really journalists.  Journalists complain that Obama is hiding from them and conducting exclusive secret meetings with partisan hacks instead?  Well, we have no real response because we're hoping that news just goes away.

The rate at which Obama's supporters move the goalposts is actually very impressive.

Your non-answer says it all.

Anyone who has a problem with Obama's supporters is obviously Karl Rove, so why bother even having a discussion, right?  Pathetic.  You are left with nothing but blind accusations and lame rhetorical crutches that you didn't even have the originality or intelligence to create yourself.

What a bunch of freaking fools you guys can be at times.   this story isn't about left or right it is about the President using his power to directly control his image and message and to do so by limiting the press acccess to events/meetings that should be transparent. There is a difference between limiting questions and not allowing the press to even be at the event and then supply your own photos to the american public as if the photos are candids

Generally that is a move used by Dictators

If what Bush did was wrong doesn't that make Obama also wrong for doing the same thing?  I never understand the "well they did or didn't do it" as an excuse used by adults especially when discussing politics.

This argument has Zero to do with past Presidents as that is in the past. Also if read the links even the photographers allow that there are times where it is acceptable not to allow reporters/photographers on the scene.

Folks like Rwa2play are not interested in anything but worshiping at the altar of personality... actual ideas and concepts are rarely even considered, it's all about identity with them.  That's why he throws things up like "but but but Bush" and such; he assumes everyone is like him and that this is just one big game of checkers.

There are people like him all over the place and they are dems and reps and conservatives and liberal...  When I go after any political figure, the knee-jerks automatically assume I'm supporting "the other side."

I'd love an efficient and straight-forward tax system that isn't used to punish and reward.
I'd love a President that has a long view of where the country is going.
I'd like Congress to actually represent the people (in the House) and protect us from majority rule (the Senate)
It would be great to have everyone in the country identify themselves as Americans instead of hyphen-Americans.
I'd love to not have social issues be used by politicians as wedges to drive us apart.
It would be great to embrace the unique and diverse fabric of our culture FOR REAL instead of pretending that political correctness promotes such diversity.
Being able to trust and verify that we are a one-person / one-vote society would be fantastic.
Not playing political games with immigration would be nice.
For good measure, it would be a good idea to make sure our kids don't forget about their place in the natural world.  Although technology is absolutely awesome, so is camping and hiking.

Anyway... that's what I'm talking about.

Agreed, it is all starting to get old really fast.   This issue with the photo journalist is rare pure issue with the President and isn't a left or right issue.

I believe as Americans we are getting played by all sides from both the politicians and the talking heads (all sides).

Nothing is every discussed long term in the political world much less the corporate world.  Of course there are times that you have to look at a short term fix/issue but like buying used tires you should only do it when you have no other choice.

the technology is being used to divide us in a much greater way than it is being used to bring up together.

I'm against voter id laws but not for any left/right reason. I feel it speaks great about our country that a citizen can walk up give name and address, sign the form and vote without having to show id.  forget the voter id laws, just treat anyone who commits and is found guilty of voter fraud as an act of treason with life in prison.
