Fark!  I WISH my bonds racked up returns like that!  It must be good to be the king.

"The toll evader said he'd like state lawmakers to reassess their fee structure."
Um, no? How about paying the toll and not ignoring the fees when they get mailed to your house?

"Bourcier said he was told that when the toll booths were unmanned after 11:30 p.m., he could use the road without paying the 75-cent toll.

"I would go through late at night, and there weren't any attendants," Bourcier told USA Today. "One day, I asked an attendant if the cameras were on when there were no attendants on duty. He said they weren't. So I started going through without paying the tolls."

Ummm... yeah. That's not what that means.

I need a graphic that shows that road as a big vacuum, sucking money out of Loudoun County.

"I asked an attendant if the cameras were on when there were no attendants on duty. He said they weren't. So I started going through without paying the tolls."

So because one toll booth operator told him the cameras are off, he decided he could cheat, even after he got a load of tickets in the mail.

If you actually pay it, it is only a $0.75 toll.

Well, traffic tickets are like saving bonds, both are nothing but a mechanism for the government to empty your pocket.

My ex-wife ran the local tolls 1 too many times one month and hid the citation that was mailed TO ME.  She tried to figure out how to take care of it herself and finally gave up when the notice came in 90 days later that my license was going to be suspended.  The ticket issued for running the tolls was a couple hundred dollars.  She said she called the county clerk to figure out how to arrange payment, but couldn't come up with the money on her own.  I made 1 call to the toll authority and their policy was simply to send them a money order for $25, and that's it!  The county serves as a collection agency and that's why it will cost a couple hundred dollars when you deal with it that way.  Of course, all bets are off once your license is actually suspended.

Did I mention that she's my ex-wife now?

Toll roads are an example of how, in this country, we have such a hard-on for pointless accountability we're willing to pay far more for everything just to make sure the right people get charged. All of those gates and attendants aren't free, plus you know some corporation is raking in profit over the whole thing. But god forbid we just pay for the things with tax money.

I'm including the Greenway.  Yeah, I know they're technically different roads, but hell if I'm going to take 28 when I live a mile from exit 6.

This accountant is so good with money he should work for the Pentagon.

I saw this rocket surgeon on TV today and wanted to punch him. He was talking about how when he was out of work he had no money to take the road, so  he just ran it. For work I had to go there a lot and I got real good at navigating the roads around there so I could avoid the Dullas toll road. Its not hard buddy, get a GPS or a map.

Must be a good reason that he's an unemployed accountant...

He ignored them, racking up processing fees ($25 per violation) and penalties (up to $500 per infraction).

Well, that might be part of the reason.

In Indiana after 60 days of unpaid anything your license is suspended.  Talk about rude.

Sounds like my flake of an Ex girlfriend. A friend of hers that was as big of an idiot told her that after a year the toll charge goes away and they wont bother you anymore. Wanna guess how that turned out?

Those things cost more than $0.75, duh.

Although, I wonder what his excuse for all that driving while he was out of work.

I bet when she was young and pretty, you found that kind of dumb behavior cute and wanted to take care of her.

Now, she's old and fat, its annoying and want to kick her to the curb.

OK. Right now I just realized I wasn't even talking about you.

Seriously. I also live off of exit 6, and my drive is short. $4 and some odd cents to use the greenway for less than 2 miles. But the other option is to sit in line 40 cars back at a 4 way stop sign at ashburn village blvd and waxpool, then deal with the waxpool madness.. so I take the damn greenway to old ox road.

Clever man. He evade $251.25 in tolls, and in return has to pay $150 every month until he's 87.

"In fairness to all the drivers who pay their tolls every year, we have responsibility to pursue toll violations and to crack down on those who try to evade collection," Christopher Paolino, a spokesman for the MWAA, told the newspaper.

Don't blame your anti-American dickish behavior on me, you worm.  Dodging tolls is like baseball and apple pie.

simple law: Don't pay your traffic tickets? then a nice policeman comes to you with a notice to appear in court. Problem solved.

Oh wait a sec. Its about the profit for the tolling company and not about following legal procedures.

/Some jurisdictions just stop you from renewing your license and insurance.
//Court is for ummmmmmm something to do with ahhhh tickets.
