Baxter will need that insurance in case some enraged biker punts him off a bridge.

Poor dog thinks he's only on the hook for his slacker-owners premiums for another 3.7 years.

So we've gone from "no one can sign up anywhere for any reason ZOMG it's a total failure" to "it's so easy to sign up even a dog can do it ZOMG it's a total failure"?

That dog also has two Obamaphones and collects disability and food stamps. Guess who he voted for!

Dog's actual name is Benghazi but it was too difficult to spell, since to get the next letter you have to count the woofs over the phone and the z takes forever..

Funny: I sort of figured he'd be the kind of person to resist applying right up until the deadline. For that matter, a job like his has got to be considered a major risk factor. What must it do to his premiums?

Oh, wait...

BullBearMS: Wait till he finds out the part about being able to keep his vet if he likes them is a lie.

As Americans have begun shopping for health plans on the insurance exchanges, they are discovering that insurers are restricting their choice of doctors and hospitals in order to keep costs low, and that many of the plans exclude top-rated hospitals.

How is that any different than current HMO/PPOs work now?

My thought about TFA is the same as when a cat signs up for a credit card.

"Why the hell is your pet on a mailing list in the first place? Whose fault is that?"

Just shocking that our noble insurance companies would take this opportunity to fark us over and let the blame fall on the government.

Well, somebody kept making these promises he couldn't keep.

Turns out that is a problem, when those promises aren't true.

Thank goodness he bravely stood up to them by forcing everyone to purchase their for-profit product instead of doing something sensible like just expanding Medicare to everyone.

And what first tiny step do you recommend for getting a corrupt sociopathic profit oriented industry preying on human suffering and misery under control? Something YOU need.

Farking idiots. Show some class since intelligence is just too far a reach.
The term "Obamacare" is a tragic, ironic joke in the first place. Using the derp is no better than revealing your stupid by using "Military Intelligence", "Bipartisan", "Peak Oil", "Drill Baby Drill" or my favorite, "Energy Independence". Just bullchit terminology for the fools.

I wish my dog could sign up. He's insulin-dependent diabetic (type I - genetic, not overweight at all) and he just developed Cushing's disease. Between insulin, Vetoryl, needles, blood work and special food, he's running up quite a monthly bill. But, we can afford it, I guess, so what else can we do? He's family.

I've know people who support ACA that refer to it as "Obamacare." A friend has a bumper sticker that reads "I {heart} Obamacare" and she got it from the Obama campaign website a few years ago. Is it any worse than "Bush tax cuts"?

Your job, should you accept it, is to fight the good fight each and every day. Which includes just letting derp die.

No, I'm definitely ant-derp. I loathe liebural, conservatard, rethuglican, demoncrat, etc., etc., etc. Those are cardinal sins. I think "Obamacare" is more venial.

In the mid-90s, a friend of mine had a credit card mailed to her cat.

It had his name on it and everything. All they had to do was activate it.

So that means credit cards are a complete failure and should be banned, right?

Hey, now. As Bill Moyers pointed out on PBS at the time, the Democratic Senator responsible for selling us out to the corrupt sociopathic profit oriented industry preying on human suffering got paid off fair and square. \

I would think that signing your pets up for an insurance policy would be easy.  The providers would be more than happy to take your money.  Actually submitting a request for reimbursement would be where you run into the difficulties.

Insurance companies did that before the ACA took effect.  Many years ago, my Insurer dropped my doctor from coverage and I had to either pay more of find a new one.  Whose fault was it then?

"Obamacare" is not Medicare, or Medicaid.  You don't sign up for it.  "Obamacare" or the ACA is a law that imposes new regulations on private insurers, establishes a subsidy for the purchase of private insurance, and a new tax that can be avoided by carrying health insurance.  It is not something you sign up for, any more than new environmental regulation is something you "sign up for."

Also, the website is not "Obamacare".  The website is a portal to private insurance exchanges, only necessary in states that refuse to facilitate those private exchanges.

Just who do you assume pays for the healthcare delivered to the uninsured now?

What does that have to do with Obama lying to everyone to sell a plan that forces everyone to buy these corrupt sociopathic profit oriented industry preying on human suffering and misery's products?

Or the millions of dollars in bribes they took for doing it?

Bill Moyers:

Polls show the overwhelming majority of Americans favor a non-profit alternative -- like Medicare -- that would give the private health insurance industry some competition. But if so many Americans and the President himself want that public option, how come we're not getting one?

Because, the medicine has been poisoned from day one. Movers and shakers rotate between government and the lucrative private sector at a speed so dizzying they forget who they're working for.

SEN. MAX BAUCUS: Our plan does not include a public option.

BILL MOYERS: Take a close look at that woman sitting behind Montana Senator Max Baucus. He's the Democrat who's the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Liz Fowler is her name. And now get this. She used to work for WellPoint, the largest health insurer in the country. She was Vice President of Public Policy. And now she's working for the very committee with the most power to give her old company and the entire industry exactly what they want: higher profits, and no competition from alternative non-profit coverage that could lower costs and premiums.

Just to be certain Congress sticks with the program, they've been showering megabucks all over Capitol Hill. From the beginning, they wanted to make sure that the bill that comes out of the Finance Committee next week puts for-profit health insurance companies first, by forcing the uninsured to buy medical policies from them.

In just the last few months, the health care industry has spent 380 million dollars on lobbying, advertising and campaign contributions. And a million and a half of it went to -- don't hold your breath -- Finance Committee Chairman Baucus, who said he saw "a lot to like" in two proposed public options but voted "no."

SEN. MAX BAUCUS: My job is to put together a bill that gets 60 votes. Now I can count and no one has been able to show me how we can count up to 60 votes with a public option in the bill.

BILL MOYERS: Of course not. They can't get 60 votes. Not when the people who want a public alternative can't possibly scrape up the millions of dollars Baucus has received from the health sector during his political career.

Over the last two decades, the current members of the Senate Finance Committee - you're looking at them -- have collected nearly 50 million dollars from the health sector. A long-term investment that's now paying off like a busted slot machine.

You don't get to take their money for forcing us to buy the sociopath's product and lie about what it will mean if we do, and then pretend you are blameless when they screw us over after the fact.

Almost forgot...using your dog's name to create a login account for a website does not mean your dog "signed up" for anything.  And if an insurance company underwrites a policy naming your dog as additional insured, who is the real dummy?  The company that accepted your premium payments, or the jackass that tries to bring his dog to a plan physician for medical care and gets none?
