Geocaching is one of the few ways I can get my 9 year old to go outside and do stuff.

Despite her injuries, Miss Leonard managed to dial 999 herself. But because she couldn't give her exact location, it took emergency services half an hour to rush to her aid.

So maybe I'm not up on the whole geocaching thing, but wouldn't this make you really bad at it?

did she sign the log?

It's too bad she wasn't carrying some type of electronic device that could tell her her location.

When geocaching you're usually looking at the app on your phone telling you how close you are to the object, it doesn't really say where you are, especially if you're in a field. I guess you could give the dispatcher the GPS coordinates but that probably wouldn't help them much.

Stick to portal hacking.

It only gets you harassed by the cops ... and you have a 5% less chance of being shot for it.

Aisle seat...

So, she became the geocache.

Why not? Everyone has a smart phone and I assume most emergency vehicles have GPS these days. Plug the coordinates into apple or google maps and Profit!

Geocaching  is a hobby that seems to be a combination of stupid and dangerous, yet fun in better times.  With all the security threats and crap I wouldn't even dare "playing".  Over half this state is a paranoid mess and concealed carry means people would rather shoot first and ask later.  Even if you aren't on their property it still seems like a shooting waiting to happen.  I know our high school had to tell people not to do it and if they do stick to the common parks.  Do not do it if you are anything but white around here.

Another similar hobby has also suffered because of the terrorism crap.  Fox hunts used to be a good time,  but seeing a man hide a transmitter and a bunch of people with RDF gear really sets off security concerns.  In the post 9/11 and Boston world people are farking stupid with fear.

Sheesh...i've been in a bind with some 'caches but seriously...cow stampede? Took nothing, left my spleen.

As evidenced by all those geocachers shot by CCW holders. But don't let facts interrupt your derp.

I had that thought too, but it's not too much of a stretch to think her GPS device got trampled too.  And her phone might have been an old flip phone or something.

In before Diablo cow level?

Having been briefly chased by a cow, let me tell you, that is one huge head bee-lining right at your face. It is down right scary. Pitbulls, whatever. Don't mess with a cow.

I came here to say this!   She should have known EXACTLY where she was.

Obviously, she must have ignored the Dangerous Cows attribute.

Cache was probably left by some UK redneck, as a high-tech version of "cow tipping."

/why do city folk keep thinking livestock is harmless and helpless?
//y'all wouldn't keep falling for it if y'all wasn't so dumb

Cows are evil this is why I eat them.

I always thought the Livestock attribute was a joke, but now I'll pay more attention to it.

Treasure hunting is all just fun and games

until the herd stampedes.

Stampeding cows?

Why was she geocaching in WalMart?

Should have downloaded the Mad Cow Avoidance app.

She's on her way to a full recovery, according to her brother, "Mr. Leonard, 62, an advanced driving consultant from Buckinghamshire."  Maybe he does an annual skills review with the van drivers from the Department of Housinge.
