The caller was able to bring it up and get his point across. Rusty didn't cut him off until afterwords.

Was the obvious tag popping too many pills to show up?

Really!?!?

This just in: Rush Limbaugh is a hypocritical blowhard. More at 11.

fark Rush Lampchop. fark him in his rusted crusty gaping cornhole. He's as bad as Al Sharpton and other attention whores that use social topics to preach at us, and make money, while doing whatever they want behind the camera. Suck a big hot bowl of bent donkey cocks Rush. Suck them deep.

That was almost poetic.

Limbaugh then cut the caller off and accused him of being "filled with the usual leftist, bigotry, hatred and gibberish" and added, "You don't have the slightest idea what you are talking about."

Oh you poor, poor victim. How many Dominican boys will make you feel better?

Limbaugh was also detained at the Palm Beach International Airport after returning from the Dominican Republic [the child prostitution vacation destination of the world] with Viagra in his luggage, reported [only traveling with other guys and his girlfriend still in the US]

They never mention those things.

I don't know how anyone could accuse Rush of being an addict - he plead Not Guilty, then reached a settlement - how does that work?  Oh, he plead GUILTY but got a slap on the wrist.  I can only assume that it's because he's famous or something - can't be the fat, they jail fat guys all the time.  Can't be his well known smarts, smart guys go to jail too.

Anyway, is anyone at all in the world apart from the Dittoheads in any doubt that Rush is a hypocrite?  I mean, this is not the first time, I'm pretty sure it's not going to be the last.

It would be awesome if there was a surge of callers who all brought up his drug abusing history.  If enough people got involved, he wouldn't be able to go a single show without it being brought up at least once.  And that should continue until he stops criticizing people who've done less harmful things than him, e.g. medical marijuana users.

The caller did a great job of praising him, asking questions to feed his ego, then bam! Switch gears.  He could have tried a little harder to re-cut RL off.

That would be great. Get lots of people to call in with fake things and then all switch it to talking about his drug use.

i was happy to have heard this on the radio this morning (yeah, i listen wanna fight about it?)
it was unfortunate that the caller was cut off so soon & i have to wonder why Rushbo would lie about his past unless he's back on the pills.

either way, you know the poor guy who screens the callers is going to get a couple lashings for letting the caller through.

Just where do all these celebrities and rich people find such great plea bargains?

At the plea market.

While at first, it seems like a good idea.  But how long would it take before they stopped taking real callers and  just have phonies call in?  I don't think you get to where he's got without being able to sidestep a few landmines.

You have to be exceptionally rich to be a drug addict and still weigh more than a 1966 Pontiac Bonneville, its capacious trunk stuffed to the gills with pudding.

Not when he's making hand-over-fist from all the advertisers who basically shovel money into that tub's mouth.  Thin drug addicts are poor people who spend every cent they have on their next fix.

I've listened to him before too.  Sometimes when you're on the road and are bored and you've listened to every song you brought with you 10 times it's better than nothing I guess.

And you've already listened to all the gospel stations and got bored with them, Rush always seems to be there.  He's an epic troll.  He'll slip in a few things I can agree with, but 98% of it is bullshiat.  What's truly amazing to me is that there are so many people out there who seem to hang on his every word.

He's very much like Charles Manson in many respects.  He can manipulate people and make them believe that every word he says is important and meaningful.   He has no conscience.  He thinks he's the only person who knows what's really happening in this world, or at least he plays that role.  He's a farking psychopath.  His own drug use?  Oh, let's not talk about that, but if anyone smokes a joint they should serve hard time in prison.

If I were ever to go into the marijuana business, I would grow a strain of bud and call it "Rushbo" because the people who believe in him must be higher than I could ever imagine.

Eh... the audio kinda goes against how the article made it sound. The guy clearly used the topic as a segue and when he did it Limbaugh let him rant for a bit then when he stopped Limbaugh dropped the caller and calmly said what was quoted and moved along. Most the time Limbaugh doesn't take callers. His show is essentially a stream of consciousness monologue. It really says a lot about the guy's broadcasting chops that he can talk for hours and still get the ratings he gets with few guests or callers contributing.

Plus he pads his show with constant references to whatever business project he has going on.

Also, did they try to find the oldest pic of Limbaugh?

Come on.

The caller was smart enough to suck up to Rush at first just enough for Rush to let his guard down... and to let the call get past the delay. The minute Rush realized he had been played he hung up.

If the caller had led the drug stuff Rush would have dumped it and it never would have made it on the air.

The comments here are rather low-quality.
1. Can someone cite an instance of Rush going after drug abusers?
2. People in general who become drug addicts are suffering from some pain or distress, and find that the stuff that gives them relief is addictive.  How unusual is that?  Rush had the same experience.  It does help to be rich so as to afford competent lawyers and suitable rehab facilities.  What does that say about what the government provides?
3. The main reason we don't like drug addicts is we don't want to see them around.  We don't see Rush around, and besides, he doesn't seem to be addicted anymore, so what's the problem?
4. What's the big excitement about bringing up previous drug problems?  Some kind of high-school prank that was old way before 2000?  Rush is right in cutting off another a**hole who is more interested in hearing his own stupid voice than making the program worth listening to.
5. Fark teaser isn't even related to the article anyway.  Article doesn't say anything about Rush's alleged attacks on drug abusers, and only blathers in the first paragraph about Rush complaining about liberals suppressing free speech while he is suppressing it by refusing to give ignorant dopes a forum.
6. If you want to hear ignorant dopes ranting on Rush's drug abuse, you can listen to MSNBC or any "progressive" talk radio station.

hah!

he has my fathers attention (who just turned 65). the weird thing is i have always considered my father a moderate, perhaps the shift farther right by the Right has gone unnoticed by the more moderates in the party, how that can be possible, i have no idea IF  they've been paying attention in any way shape or form.
then again, the media vacuum they live in doesn't stray from topic or message.

and even still, my father can be swayed depending on the subject.  I mean he doesn't come across as a Rushbot unwilling to debate topics or restrict data.

Too many whites are getting away with drug use...Too many whites are getting away with drug sales...The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too.
~The Rush Limbaugh Show (October 5, 1995), quoted in Cerabino, Frank (7 December 2003), "Words of wisdom for Rush: Just hush", The Palm Beach Post

With google and a few seconds, you could answer all of your own questions...if you really cared

Rush Limbaugh made his bones in the 90s by going after President Clinton.  Usually because Clinton smoked pot, cheated on his wife, didn't serve in Vietnam.
