You see, it's funny because a bunch of kids and their teachers were murdered!  With guns!  And I'm giving people ammunition so that they remember that I have guns!

But not for murder!

Jeez!  It's like no one can take a joke anymore...

God, what a dumbass.

Another responsible gun owner who in no way would fall victim to any mental health restrictions on gun ownership heard from.

I'm on the 2nd amendment side of things and even I think he's a dumb ass.

"He's entitled to his own opinion,'' said Gianazza, a former school board member just elected to the Board of Finance. "It's probably not the brightest thing to post on Facebook, but it's not as dumb as what I'm about to say.''

Who went on to say, "It's time to let this tragedy go. It's painful, it hurts. Let's stop bringing it up every five minutes,'' Gianazza said. "Gun owners are particularly offended because it is unreasonable to expect everyone to give up their guns because one person went berzerk.''

The news seems to be full of bizarre Tea Party stories like this lately.

It is time to put this tragedy behind us.  Now is not the time to talk about gun control.

/Am I doing this right?

It was a stupid thing to post, but I think a few people are overdoing the outrage.

You're not helping.

I don't think anybody is coming after my guns (ever)

There won't even be any more background checks

or any sort of "federated" background checks (where they search multiple databases)

There will be LESS gun-controll

I'm pro gun control and even I must tentatively agree with his statement. But I still say give it at least a year, particularly if you're a local who probably knows someone, or knows someone who knows someone, directly affected by the tragedy (I don't even live in Newtown but have several friends who fall into the latter category, and one of the children's grandfathers was a teacher at my middle school when I was there). I don't think that's unreasonable to ask.

Irresponsible mouth owner shoots himself in the foot.

I'm certain the dead children would be honored to know ammo was purchased in their memory. After all, it was the last thing to go through their minds.

It's like they can't help themselves...leave those poor guns alone already!

I should have cut the bit about letting the tragedy go. It was the sentence about gun owners being particularly offended that struck me as perilously stupid.

holy fark! that was like a year ago. I think it's time to move on from Newtown.

Have they *seen* the price of ammo? I think most people would be excited by this. If you want to buy me a box of ammo for national Blow Up The Trade Center And Kill All The Whities And Irish And People Who Wear Glasses day I would be happy to accept.

I'm good on 9mm and .40. I am getting low on .45 and totaly out of .357. Of course I wouldn't mind a large 500 ct box of 30-06 or 5.56mm. As long as it's not that crappy Wolf ammo. If you're gonna get Wolf, I'll take it for 7.62x39 or 7.62x54R

Well... that was a little dark.

Perhaps he and his buddies can just get together on the anniversary for a 26-gun salute instead.

No, but neither would I buy gas for all my friends.

Shaggy0717: Is he also going to buy his friends slurpees on the anniversary of Trayvon?

no, I have a strong feeling this is a 'one trick' pony... he will also buy ammo on that day... and veterans day and memorial day and labor day and the anniversary of Reagan getting shot and Kennedy getting assassinated... and MLK jr day and valentines day and christmas and... yes, he will probably post it to facebook each and every time he buys ammo...

Dicks don't belong on the BOE - creationists do.

Poor gun owners. The FEMA camps we forced you & your weapons into must really be breaking you.

He's rescue, and a dispatcher to boot - sensitivity and intelligence are not required for the job. Hence, he displays none.

"Gun owners are particularly offended because it is unreasonable to expect everyone to give up their guns because one person went berzerk.''

Exactly.  And the fact that one person went berzerk REINFORCES the desire of the gun-wielding public to keep their firearms to protect themselves in case someone else goes berzerk next to them.  If you have paid any attention to the news in this country you're probably aware that people going crazy and shooting people has happened more than once.

It's pretty insensitive but, it's constitutionally protected free speech without any threat associated.  Being offended is the newest American standard it seems.

He's a public official. The public has every right and expectation to hold office holders to a higher standard of discourse than some jerk at a bar.

And can we please stop waving around the Constitution when absolutely no one is attempting to violate the man's 1st Amendment rights? He has the constitutional right to spout off, as he likes, but that doesn't give him some kind of magic shield to deflect criticism anymore than it would if he released a public statement that he was really into hentai and furries.

Exactly. And Obama is not coming to take away every firearm in the country from everyone. Nobody is suggesting that *every* gun be taken away, only those that shoot through schools.

/my grandmother took away my gun once... ONCE

Certainly, I agree. I'd never ask everyone to do that, it's very unreasonable.

Or it would be if anyone actually said that.

//If anything, Democrats reinforced the image of the Spineless Party by loosening buyer restrictions after the Sandy Hook shooting.
