He needs to go further and go full Kim Jong Un and declare "utter annihilation" of his opponents in a "sacred war of our ancestors".

Almost current..
The Sun News show Ford Nation, mentioned in the article, has already been cancelled after the one airing.
It seems it took 5 hours to shoot, 8 hours to edit, and was too expensive as a result, despite record ratings for the network.

Am I bad for actually liking him?

He has a certain style and now that his secrets are out has little to hold him back.

I have smoked a crack pipe a couple of times *meh* do it everyday and you are in trouble, do it once a year at an all night party *shrug*

At least he isn't Berlusconi.

He'll never resign. He truly doesn't believe that he's done anything wrong, everything is someone else's fault. Even his "apologies" blame others, especially the media.

Rofo reminds me of the kids I used to work with in groups homes and young offender facilities. Every time he's held accountable for his actions, he points out what other people have done (i.e. mocking the Councillor for DUI) and attacks them. Even when he apologized for referring to his poor wife as an all-you-can-eat pussy buffet, he still blamed everyone else for all the stress he's under.

Maybe a better example is Jake Blues when he's confronted in the tunnel.

"I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD! "

When Ford admitted to smoking crack, he said, literally, "I have nothing left to hide".

That is a surefire guarantee that he has plenty left to hide, given how pathological he is about lying.  He is likely involved in extortion and there is a >0 chance that he was involved in Anthony Smith's murder.

Not as much sex, although I'm sure some of that's coming too, turns out that "friend" who was on "Miss Toronto Tourism" duties with the Mayor at the Bier Markt (in spite of being Miss TT two years earlier) that he was drinking with in his office after he was kicked out of the bar for being too hammered is a burlesque dancer, poker dealer and hired party girl, who may provide additional services... Ties to the murder are a little more tenuous, although there is some interesting lies regarding his relationship with Lisi (who was arrested the day it was announced the crack tape existed)  Never mind the gravy train that he ran and won on a promise to squash was running full speed in his office.  (Figure about $300k wasted this year)

16 minutes...I read it was 16 minutes of actual Ford Brothers content. Makes me think he's still drinking or worse.

That, or they let him into the editing room.

That's the reason they gave, yes, but I have a sneaking suspicion there was more to the cancellation than that. I suspect someone with the Conservative Party or the Prime Minister's office may have hinted to Kory Tenycke (the Harper staffer turned Sun News exec) that continuing the show may not end well.

Harper had been silent on the saga of his fishing buddy until Monday, finally simply calling the situation "troubling" and trying to imply that Justin Trudeau is just as bad (for admitting to smoking pot on occasion). Monday the media firestorm continues, with Ford interviews airing on CNN, Fox News, CBC, during the course of which Rob Ford makes it clear that he wants to be Prime Minister, and that, his own actions aside, this is all really much ado about nothing cooked up by a "lefty media" and political enemies intent on persecuting him because he's the bestest and most popular elected official in the history of everything. A number of outlets fact check Ford's repeated assertions in these interviews and find him to be a lying liar who lies.

It all culminates in FordNation, during which loyal Harper acolyte Ezra Levant goes on one of his trademark unhinged rants, this one about how Ford's behavior is excusable because, unlike Teddy Kennedy and a number of other "liberals" and "lefties" that have nothing to do with this situation, he hasn't killed anyone. Then on Tuesday, Ford starts out the day with yet another interview, this one with Matt Lauer, and it goes full crazytown. Meanwhile, Jason Kenney (a federal cabinet minister who has long been a part of Harper's inner circle, and who has aspirations of being his successor) publicly states that he thinks Ford should resign as mayor, and SunNews announces the cancellation of FordNation.

After the past few days of increasingly intense international attention (and mocking) and Ford generally showing himself to be uncontrollable, I think the powers-that-be simply decided that maybe there IS such a thing as bad publicity and that Ford had crossed the line from useful idiot to liability.

He also was paying the electricity bills for the crackhouse, which is owned by the parents of a school chum.

Plus, yeah, he hired a guy to extort the gangsters who shot the video. Vice also had a story about a hacker who says Ford hired him to track down the video and erase it.

So I'd not be surprised if he either gets arrested before his term is up (courts move awful slow in Canada so I doubt we'd see a conviction on anything before the next election).

Him eating a shotgun blast is truly to be hoped for, but I think for him to cross that line will require more embarrassment and outrage. His ego's too vast to tear down so quickly.

The Jason Kenney bit was interesting, that sets up a pretty high quality point of separation between him and Harper, look for that to get more interesting...
When Harper came out to talk about Ford, which he clearly did not want to, he still led off the statement with Trudeau, pot, bad, and fluffed over Toronto's mayor, crack, something, something
Hudak was pretty reluctant to say much either.
It's pretty tough to have the 'zero tolerance drugs are a crime and must be punished' stance taken seriously when is is only applied along party lines...

But it's never going to happen.
