I'm okay with this.

2013-11-19 07:46:03 PM
I'm happy for her... her career had fallen off in recent years, but really for no reason other than she aged out of being a young quirky girl.   She's making a come back,... i've seen her in a lot of stuff recently... Reprising a kitchy role from almost 30 years ago is kinda cool.

T.rex: I'm happy for her... her career had fallen off in recent years, but really for no reason other than she aged out of being a young quirky girl.

And because they were worried that she'd go home with valuable props in her bag.

I bet she steals the show

I love her.

Oh yeah... i forgot about that.   Though that was probably a effect of her career decline rather than a cause.

Had a big crush on the animated version of Lydia.

2013-11-19 07:55:17 PM
Her whole life is a darkroom. One. Big. Dark. Room.

BalugaJoe: I love her.

I'd bang her like a vintage set of Gretch drums.

"I'm kind of sworn to secrecy. But it sounds like it might be happening...It's not a remake. It's 27 years later. And I have to say, I love Lydia [Deetz] so much. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later."

in other news, that movie is 27 years old. Thank you, fark, for that.

Oh, oh yeah. I would do everything to her. I would WRECK that chick.

Given Burton has been past his prime after the end of the 90s (cept for Sweeny Todd), here's my crossing of fingers. But having the same cast would be very nice.

/Please bring back Keaton and I'll be sold even if it disappoints

I'd rock her body in time.

Well, they will not be bringing back Otho.

I doubt we'll be seeing much of Charles, either.

She was great in Drunk History.

And Drunk History is an awesome show.

I always chuckle a bit to myself when I think that just a year later he was Batman.

I really want this movie not to suck.

That said: it's going to be really hard to recapture a lot of what made the first movie great.  It's easy to write the Deetzes out (wanted to return to the city so that Delia could sell more art).  The Maitlands can't come back because they're older and ghosts don't age (weren't they supposed to be haunting the house for 125 years?).

Keaton would do just fine, I think.  He'd be hidden under lots of makeup so the age difference could be diminished. But I think that part of the charm of the original movie (and people seem to forget this) is the fact that he had really not a lot of screen time (18 out of 92 minutes).  I would guess that the writers are under pressure to put in more Beetlejuice and less quirky characters and story.  Oh, and there will be tons more CGI.  Boo.

And in case some farkers haven't seen it, here's a Beetlejuice roller coaster done in Minecraft. It's insane.

They say they did it on the 360 version, but I find that hard to believe.

As sudden thunder pierces night
As magic wonder mad of fright
Rise asunder man's delight
Our ghost, our corpse
and we rise to be.

As flies to lizard
as serpents fell
As goblins visit
At the spell
The buried dead and slain
Rise again.

And he's back!

They'll make it the first movie franchise to join Club 27.

Put a check next to my name on the list of people who love Wynona.  I hated that she put herself through all that trouble with the shoplifting and drugs or what not and basically tanked her career.  I love watching her in movies.  Even when they're not good movies, there's just something about her that's alluring to watch.

She's pretty, but lordamercy she can't act. Remember Dracula? She and Keanu made a wonderland of suck. She must've been riding Scorsese like the Kentucky Derby to get cast in Age of Innocence.

The only redeeming quality of that movie was Gary Oldman.

And at this time, Fifth Element and Dracula are on cable right now.

He was fun, but he was chewing the scenery so much that not even Anthony Hopkins could get a bite.

However, the scene in the labyrinth where you can see her tits and when she kisses Lucy ain't bad.

Also, vudukungfu, it's GRETSCH drums.

I would link the animated .gif of Winona running down the stairs in Dracula, but I don't want to take a temporary vacation.

I was a big fan of Beetlejuice back in the day -- when you could drop the F word in a movie and still get a PG rating...

She was farking great in The Iceman.

From what I've heard Keaton is coming back as Beetlejuice.

Wouldn't mind seeing some of the rest of the cast return, at least in cameo roles.

Except Otho. Glenn Shadix is a ghost IRL.

Oh I dunno, Hopkins got a few good bites in the movie.
"Mina: How did Lucy die?
Van Helsing: Well...
Mina: Was she in great pain?
Van Helsing: Ya, she was in great pain! Then we cut off her head, and drove a stake through her heart, and burned it, and then she found peace.
Jonathan Harker: (choking on wine) Doctor!

Van Helsing: We are dealing with forces beyond all human experience, and enormous power. So guard her well. Otherwise, your precious Lucy will become a biatch of the Devil! A whore of darkness! (as he starts humping on his leg)
Quincey P. Morris: Well, you're a sick old buzzard!

Van Helsing: I want you to bring me, before nightfall, a set of postmortem knives.
Dr. Jack: An autopsy? On Lucy?
Van Helsing: No, no, no. Not exactly. I just want to cut off her head and take out her heart.

His delivery on those lines was perfect. Hopkins, Oldman, Winona's bouncing boobies in a see through nightgown, and a young topless Monica Bellucci were what made that movie watchable.
