On a scale of 1 to 10, how much does this make Sarah Palin president?

This is about a 6. The reliance on a single poll of national voter preference still makes Sarah Palin automatically president forever, but Obama merely has to brush Rafalca's mane and give her some apples.

Why just limit it to the 2012 election? Let's just go back and revisit EVERY presidential election? Forget recent history. What about Martin Van Buren? Or Fatty Taft? Huh?! John Tyler? Millard "The Duck" Fillmore? And Harding? James Buchanan? We could do this forever!

I would probably vote for Romney over William Henry Harrison.

And the honest truth:  My life wouldn't be different in any meaningful way.  Just throwing that out there.  Romney wouldn't have been a disaster to this country, and on the same note Obama hasn't been either.  In other words, meh.

If Senator...excuse me....Secretary Milquetoast Windsurfer had been able to run against Bush in his 7th year with a 25% approval rating, he probably would have won too instead of losing in 2004.

So what?

No, it's "how many Palins could we have elected President?" Obama is so unpopular, we'd have elected Sarah, Todd, Bristol and Piper. Obama is still more popular than Talladega, Winchester and Evergreen.

2013-11-19 02:04:06 PM
And if they could wait until 2089 when my Reverse Glue Constitutor is complete we could elect President Rafalca. Why do you libs insist on rushing these elections?

You know, if the election was held now, candidate Romney would have yet another year of income tax returns that he would refuse to release.

If Stalin ran in the last election, shaved his mustache, claimed to be christian, ran as a pro-corporate democrat, avoided slaughtering millions of his own countrymen, then he would have won the last election. I love alternate history fanfic.

That's because enough time has passed for people to start thinking of Romney as "Generic Republican" again.

Once he opens his big mouth and starts saying what he thinks about you people his numbers would plunge again. He just isn't a good candidate.

Eh; the Washingtong Post who ran the poll does. If the increased dissatisfaction is disproportionately concentrated in the South, that's one thing. However, if the eight point national shift also reflects corresponding 8 point shifts for median swing states like Florida, Virginia and Ohio, President Obama would have come in with a pile more like 200-250 electoral votes, rather than the 330ish he did get. Even a "mere" 5 points would have sufficed to tip the election outcome.

Rev. Skarekroe: mikeresnick.com

That's actually a pretty kick-ass collection. The one with President Dukakis is merely hysterical; most of the others are pretty thought provoking.
