I really wish I had a mouthful of tea when I read that, because it would have been worth the spit take.

"Come to Jesus moment" as in, "I was told off by people I respect", or "Come to Jesus moment" as in, "We're all broken, Jesus will heal me, look at me I'm religious, so we're cool, right?"

Rule check: Can I put a mayor nobody had heard of 2 weeks ago on my celebrity death pool?

Well, he will have some time on his hands.  He seems to be mayor only in name now, so he can probably get an hour of gym time during the work day.

He can claim Jesus appeared in his living room and blessed his back-bacon for what good it does.

This guy is too far gone to save his career.

You talk as if he was actually doing anything previously other than getting drunk and high before coaching a high school football team and then hitting the Caribbean festival.

I think subby has his prepositions wrong.

If he has, he has. If he hasn't, well he's the only one who knows he lied in this case. It's kind of hard to get video proof of a non-verbal communication with someone that can't be caught on video camera.

Jesus doesn't deliver, that's why you have to go him.

You know you'd hit the festival too

Nope.

This guy will run again and win again, simply so the suburbs around downtown Toronto can stick it to them. It doesn't hurt that the usual slate of Toronto candidates will come up, dominated by a bunch of left-leaning candidates the downtown area will split their vote on.

How did someone this bonkers become mayor of such a large city?
I love that Canada is looking stupid for once, instead of the U.S. as always.

"Rob Ford"

DRIN- I mean SMOKE!

2013-11-19 11:01:20 AM
So he will be doing nothing for the next 11 months, but he still gets his full salary? Are you sure he doesn't work for the DMV?

The vast majority of religious people (of all religions) are comparable to kids going to commercial dojos and learning karate. If you don't understand the discipline, responsibility, honor and many other facets of martial arts, religion, and anything else that requires actual dedication and talent, you're just another superficial twat.

Ford's lawyer, George Rust-D'Eye, said he might seek an injunction against council's decisions but was still waiting for instructions. That's a joke right there, right. Who's his accountant, Fritz Mol-D'Knose?

He dreams one day of being the Mayor of Canada.

"Eat his words"? Will he have enough room for them after finishing his daily serving of home-cooked p***y?

GRCooper: Rule check: Can I put a mayor nobody had heard of 2 weeks ago on my celebrity death pool?

He was already Fark Famous several months ago, so I think you're fine.

Not if Stintz, Minnan-Wong, and Tory get into the mix.  They're all right-leaning.  One galvanized left-leaning mayor will take it if S, MW and T are there to split the right.

Whoa.

Anyone know if that's the guy's birth name, or if he part of one of those couples that take each others name and hyphenate them?

Here's video of the interview and a better article...

Link

The full interview is on the CBC site somewhere but I can't seem to get back to it. This one has been edited to snip out some of the less outrageous stuff and make him look worse but the full version really isn't much better. Just a bunch of typical bullsh*tting about how much money he's saved the city and trying to accuse other councilors of stuff.

Right now I think it is only a matter of time before the cops wrap up their investigation and we start seeing charges laid. I have a feeling that conspiracy to murder is gonna be in there. The cops and prosecutor KNOW they have to get the most solid case they can against this guy because of his wealth and connections. The chief saying they have the video was likely just to get the public used to the idea that yes... this guy is a criminal.

He's only the mayor of the 4th biggest city in North America....totally obscure.

I'll be fair and admit that no one usually knows any mayors outside their own city.

I did not mean to suggest that he HAD been doing anything (look at the guy), but rather to suggest that he COULD do so now more easily than before his powers were stripped.

Before the Councillors took away his powers his last act was to give all of his staffers $5000 raises...I assume so they won't all quit.

Lauer asked Ford if he'd be able to handle a terror attack or disaster in the city if he'd been out on a binge the night before - but Ford said that could happen to anyone.

"I'm very fortunate that hasn't happened. It's very few isolated incidents that it's happened," Ford replied.

"That could happen with anybody at any time."

No it can't. Having a couple beers is okay. Being blackout drunk is not an option if you're a public official who is designated the go-to guy in an emergency. Sucks, but that's the terms of office.

/really, being blackout drunk is a bad sign period

Same reason people like him get elected down here: He sticks it to the liberals. You could get these people to vote for Actual Joe Stalin if they thought liberals would be annoyed.

He should team up with ex-San Diego Mayor Bob Filer and form a comedy team Ford & Filner. Ford would be the drunken angry idiot and Filner the sexist a-hole.

Oh and I hope as he's going down he starts squealing on other politicians. Especially the Cons but if there are any Libs/Dippers with skeletons in their closets they deserved to be publicly outed as well. All these f*ckers have become really brazen/complacent and there needs to be serious shake up. Maybe the Greens and NDP will end up as the government/opposition parties for a while.

Trudeau seems okay though. Mostly harmless and benevolent even if he is a little young and flaky (but not to the extent he gets accused of). Surround him with good staff in a minority gov for the first while and see where he takes things.

I suppose we're going to need to be very specific about enquiring what illicit substances he's impaired with now.  This might end up being a game of "guess what drug this is".

The Star did a pretty fair assessment of the $1B savings claim.  I wonder if Revenue Canada would let that kind of accounting fly if I did it...

Oh yeah. He's a typical small c conservative. A lot of bluster about saving money but when you look at the books after they are through the disaster, theft and incompetence become apparent.

Ontario is STILL f*cked after Mr. Harris. McGuinty was a cocksucker too for not fixing it and have put the province in a position for ANOTHER Con gov. I have no idea what the hell that guy was doing. Wynne seems to be a little more sane though.
