Ok, I'm a Pats fan, and I think it was a BS call last night.
However, they pick up a first down on 3 and 1 instead of Brady trying to throw for a td, and maybe they pick up 7 instead of a fg.

Or if Talid wasn't acting like a jackass.
There was alot of times they messed up last night, and them the breaks.  Carolina is a good team, and they played well.

'The officials then gathered, however, and referee Clete Blakeman announced there was no foul on the play and the game was over.
''There was no explanation given to me. Officials ran off the field. I didn't see anything,'' Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. ''There was a flag thrown and then the game was over.''
Blakeman said after the game that back judge Terrence Miles saw there was contact and Kuechly was not playing the ball, and that initially led Miles to call defensive pass interference. But Blakeman said the officials met and decided the ball was ''underthrown'' and it came down to a matter of ''uncatchability.''
A pass-interference call would have put the ball on the 1-yard line and given the Patriots one more shot at a game-winning touchdown with no time on the clock.
''You never like to end the game like that on a call but I'm pleased that our officiating crew got together and communicated and discussed it and ultimately we believe we got it right,'' Blakeman said.'

Refs believe they got it right, as explained. And a hint at the tears from Belichick. Glorious...

Oh okay.  I thought I was gonna have to hear some idiotic ranting from a Boston sports writer again about how it's totally not fair that we don't get the calls or some shiat.  You know, because Ridley totally would've had the chance to fumble in the red zone if we hadn't got two hands-to-the-face calls for touching Mr. Giselle.

\and yes Ridley, we lost by less than a touchdown, you ball-dropping twit

I don't think you're in a position to comment on the correctness of the call, given your obvious bias.

McCourty must be extremely pleased with the outcome.  Otherwise all people would be talking about is how his STUPID pass interference about 3 minutes earlier cost the Patriots the game.

If it were more minor contact, I'd say they made a right call, but given that it was a full on mugging, it's tough to justify. That said, f the Pats

What part of defensive holding does the ref crew not understand?

How about the refs explain why the flag was picked up? They probably were not going to explain anything until they received their marching orders from Goodell.

The defensive player got to the ball before the offensive player would of caught it ,  Good No call,

Now holding on to the leg of an offensive player after the play was over,  all the blantent holds that werent called against the pats
pass interferences that were over looked.

The pats didnt just loose but they lost while cheating.

no dog in this fight.

They did.

Following the game, Blakeman explained and defended his crew's decision, saying the original call was pass interference but that Gronkowski's distance from the ball rendered the penalty moot.
"So it was determined at that point in time that when the primary contact occurred on the tight end that the ball, in essence, was coming in underthrown and in essence it was [immediately] at that point intercepted at the front end of the end zone," Blakeman said. "So there was a determination that, in essence, uncatchability, that the ball was intercepted at or about the same time the primary contact against the receiver occurred."

I don't agree, I thought it was at the very least defensive holding.

I can see the rationale behind the call, but in all honesty, what Patriots fans SHOULD be wondering is why Gronkowski made such a sad effort to get back to the ball?  Had he even made a minimal attempt, the call likely would have stood.

But I also think he realized the ball was underthrown by a solid 3-4 yards, so he gave up on the play.

Considering a DPI is what have them the field position in the first place, it's hard to see why Pats fans think the refs are trying to screw then

The receiver was pinning McCourty's arm to his chest. It was bullshiat.

Or the disgusting and dirty leg whip that went unpenalized on their first drive of the 3rd quarter.  That was a 12-yard run to the 43 when it should have been 1st-and-25 from from the 16, and knocked Charles Johnson out of the game for a quarter.

Oh, the hockey team won and lost last night, and the headline isn't referencing two sports?

Cool.

That officiating squad missed a ton of penalties and had plenty of bad calls on both sides of the ball.  They should be relieved from duty instead of being "downgraded."  The mugging of Gronkowski at the end was only the tip of the iceberg.
