"Oooh, look at me! I'm an outsider!". New Jersey is becoming like the right wing Portland with hipster GOPs.

Maybe if reasonable Republicans weren't now perpetually in mortal fear of being Tea Partied out in their primary, some more reasonable discussions might be taking place.

It's about human relationships, the fact of the matter is nobody in this city talks to each other anymore and if they do talk to each other it's not civilly.

Oh that's precious.  Chris Christie lecturing on being civil, talking with each other and forming human relationships.

Both sides you say? What an intriguing and edgy idea. Here I was blissfully unaware that both sides have problems and both support some of the same things and you come along to blow my mind. Truly you must be a person that is both uncommonly perceptive and beyond the simple prejudices of the mediocre brains around you. I had my doubts that weighing the pros and cons of both political party platforms would come up with such a simplistic conclusion but here you are with your unique and brilliant analysis to prove me wrong. Kudos to you, both sides are bad guy. Your not at all shallow thinking and concrete solutions are an inspiration to us all.

It is worse than that.  In the case ACA, it was their alternative.  In fact, private sector reform was the alternative to single-payer to keep the GOP happy.  Then,  it was there alternative to the public option which they were 100% against.  Now they a 100% against that alternative.

The GOP are not going to fall for that again.  If they offer up new alternatives, they will be labeled as hypocrites if they are 100% against it after the fact.

What do you mean "becoming"?

Jersey is the land of second- and third-generation immigrants whose parents or grandparents did well for themselves.  They know no live other than the one of suburban comfort they were raised in, they believe they have a natural right to all they were given, they hate immigrants (ironic) and they vote Republican, which actually makes sense, as they're one of the few groups of Republicans who aren't voting against their own self-interest.

I'll start caring about Governor Chris Christie's opinions about the Republican party when he dumps the (R) from his title. Otherwise, he's still just goose-stepping only on the wrong foot.

God I hate it when people piss and moan that the since the Democrats are the equivalent of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and since what you really want is a grinder made with the finest Italian meats, cheeses, and vegetables that the Dems are just as inedible as the cat-turds on drywall that the GOP is trying to pass as a sandwich. Grow the hell up hipster babies.

Of course a Republican president can govern in a more bipartisan manner because the opposition party isn't batshiat insane. That's not exactly a ringing endorsement for giving Republicans any more power.
