I always wondered what the names of those two big islands in the Mediterranean are. I mean besides Sicily. So Sardinia is one, what's the other one north of it? Are they part of Italy? They seem to be pretty much ignored in any discussion of geography even though they're very big islands sitting right in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.

Seriously. I know it's the daily fail but we JUST got a massive typhoon that levelled cities and they call major flooding with minimal structural damage apocalyptic?

Must be because it's closer. People getting killed daily by bombers and rebels in the middle east? Eh, crazy people. Terrorist attack on US mainland? PTSD by people not even affected directly or indirectly. Katrina? It's just black people. Sandy? OMG end of the world because I can't get my phone charged.

Corsica was sold to France in the 1700s, even though it's mostly inhabited by Italians.

Corsica is part of France, just don't say that to their face.

I wasn't answering who it belonged to. Just what the name of the other island was

I just did... here. Maps don't label label them, they only label the cities on them. Like I said, they're ignored by geography.

The island just north of Sardinia is Corsica.

Google Maps has the name "Corsica" right in the middle of it.   And "Isola di Sardegna" on the island of Sardinia.
