(io9)   That November 4 earthquake in Chicago? Yeah, it was man caused. Sure, they say it was from quarry mining....but no one has seen Obama's earthquake machine lately either   (io9.com) divider line 17

I used to live in a townhouse less than a mile from a quarry. Every day at 4:35 PM, the ground would rumble. The townhouse was only 10 years old and fairly well-built, but had cracks in the walls and settling issues. Low-grade, daily tremors have an effect on property, for sure.

/quarry owners swore that their activities didn't affect neighboring areas...

TFA omits a lot of other important info that it copy and pasted that snippet from. Not that I don't think they should inspect it a bit further, but it sounds like both sides investigating it agreed on it being two separate events, followed by some other scientists thinking they're still connected, being that it would be extraordinary circumstance if they weren't connected. It also sounds like shutting down the quarry for a long period of time may make problems worse if their hypothesis is correct. They probably should try to figure this out a bit more quickly than usual, although I'm not sure if that's possible.

Don't you know?  He keeps it next to his time machine.

It was Bush's hurricane /tsunami machine but Obama is still trying to figure out the control pad.

/when Bush was in office I heard people seriously discussing said machine.
//not even kidding.

Yeah, it's hard for us today to even understand what life was like in those ancient times of two weeks ago. And it's not like an article from yesterday - no doubt pulled from yellowing microfilm in some library archive - will be much help bringing contemporary context to that ancient culture.

I'm rolling my eyes at you now.

Didn't Alex Jones actually cone out and say he believed Pres. Obama was causing storms like Hurricane Sandy with a weather-control machine? And various other conspiracy theories circulate about atmospheric or geological research around the world - e.g., HAARP is being used to boost global warming, the "Woodpecker" radio project is a death ray and/or can cause earthquakes, NASA and USAF are using balloons to communicate with aliens, and so on.

Alex Jones said the same shiat about Bush. Katrina was caused by DARPA satellites or some shiat. Jones isn't a Republican, he's a nutcase.

When it comes to an Alex Jones statement saying "Obama did x!", you can take out "Obama" and put in "Bush", and Jones probably said that.

/and Clinton
//and Bush Sr
///etc etc

I don't mean to quote Jones as a representative of anything but his own cynical paranoia.

That wasn't aimed at you so much as more of a PSA: "Remember kids, Alex Jones is an equal-opportunity derp spewer!" There are youngins around who don't realize that Jones has been talking out of his ass since before 9/11
